There are many reasons why this game should still be in Beta.
But out of all of them, this sticks out like a sore thumb.
The new player experience.
I feel like the next expansion/build/fluffykittens should heavily focus on new player experience.
There are just no proper tutorials for this game!
If I try to introduce this game to people, it takes hours each day to explain them the basics, because they always come back to me confused about what the hell is going on.
They can't even grasp the concept because they're not EVE players.
Only one out of the 5 has managed to grasp it... After 3 weeks.
Imagine if someone just picked up the game and didn't have dedicated friends that play this game to explain to him what the hell is going on?
That's a horrible feeling.
And you know what?
I understand them.
Back at the early beta, at the time of the E3 build I joined this game.
Even though I'm an EVE player, which means I should grasp this game easily, it took me 4 days before I fully understood it.
Those 4 days were the worst time I ever had in this game.
Oh, and btw, every game I ever played took me 3 minutes to understand, so its not like I have a problem with games in general. |

I know of at least 7 newberries who have been playing for 3 weeks that didn't know there was such thing as player run corporations. |

The atrocious NPE has been the grudge of EVE for half a decade and CCP themselves said in some devblog that improving it was a huge financial success. Of the very few things, that really strike me as potentionally harmfull to the game, not learning from that experience is a far number one. |

Frankly, that game has had a more horrid NPE than Dust, IMHO it still has (no, videos and tutorials on the web don't count) |
