...except for maybe the sniper. Of course tweak the ranges of some of the weapons in relation to each other. For example the scrambler rifle should exceed the range of the tac AR imo, but all weapons have pathetic ranges especially with the large and open maps we have. |

But the Tact would still be the go to weapon then there is no way to live |

Distance is supposed to be a tactical asset. Raising ranges back to SS V chromosome levels (for example) makes almost all weapons shoot farther than what can be reasonably utilized, getting us back from "flank and move" to "snipe and sit".
Smart movement is a cognitive effort, better aim is a result of training. What should be more important is subjective but i like short range combat more.
Also rail and projectile rifle, hopefully with the next update. |

Agree.. Weapon ranges are sad at the moment. I was on top of a building last night trying to shoot down at people with a plain old AR and nothing...
It made me sad. I had all this high tech future gear, even a little square thing that lets me freaking teleport, and I couldn't shoot a guy I could hit with a .22 in real life.
I could understand having falloff, but hard capped ranges? |

they are changing that already, it has been stated multiple times that there will be more falloff to damage over distance in the future, apparently "in a few week" |

Agree with more range all around. Might as well give it to sniper rifles too. If you can land shots on sprinting and bounding pixels smaller than the center dot your bullet better hurt.
Totally thought the same thing as Daedric Lothar. Futuristic advanced technology and we have weapons that behave like they a part of a laser/gun tag arena..... oh wait that sounds about right sometimes. |

No to more range. What the devs are doing to balance range is good. If you want your AR to have optimal at say 100m, then wait for the rail rifle, I'm sure that will fit your play style. |

Agree with TheEnd boyo, ARs are now pretty accurate on long range. Range buff is DEFO not the way how tom make this game balanced. |

The AR seems like the only weapon with good range. I hear people complain about the AR's range but I still take massive damage from it at LONG ranges. When I try to do damage from less than 20m out with an HMG, I find my bullets evaporating before hitting anyone. It's weird, however, that sometimes my HMG will at least damage shields at seeming ok range and then sometimes it will do no damage at less than 20m. I don't understand that why that is.
But I do agree, the AR's aren't missing any range. |
