CRONOS. 653	Posted - 2013.05.30 14:20:00 - [1] - Quote Framerate is so bad it resembles MAG at its absolutely worst, on its 128 vs 128 gamemode, you know, at which time the game suffered a massive player drop and was for all intents and purposes a "dead game", just filled with new PS+ noobs and the occational nostalgic. As a guy knowing nothing about programming, networking and all the stuff that makes an online FPS game actually work, I really don't have much "constructive" to add. I am however deeply dissapointed in CCP, been playing the beta with the notorious "work in progress" for close to a year, and this is what I get on release. How it is possible in 2013 to release a 16 vs 16 online shooter that performs worse than any game I've played online for the last 15 years is nothing less than an insult. Get your sorted CCP!

Its a joke, there was an event in EVE when CCP got overly greedy on mediocre products and all the players rioted in the trade hub. Since the Dust guys are based in a Quafe station, I made a joke about burning it. Though honestly the best event I could think of for rioting would be for everyone to ONLY use Murder Taxis and no one shoot anyone and all battles just be death races until its fixed. I'm sure if enough people do this that someone will notice. Especially if people are doing it in the academy.

Everyone is already restarting Dust right before a match and we still get major lag.

They don't need to fix anything because even though the community is becoming aggravated, they are still throwing $20-50-100 at CCP. A business doesn't make changes when it's still rolling in the cash.

Everyone is already restarting Dust right before a match and we still get major lag. Frame lag or rubber-banding and no hit's registering? Also, it actually helps to set your server to EU. US based or not, the EU server seems to handle traffic far better.

It's not fun to be hit by scrubs in PC that you kick in pub matchs. We all have waited for this game mode that you can't play with this damn lag.

I've played almost all PC battles on EU servers, but against US players, framerate goes down very very fast (1 or 2 spawn, then hardcore mode ON), BUT you can experience it also against others EU players... Remember the contract CBs : 2 french corps fighting each other on a US server... Btw, it's still playable on pub matchs, don't know why, doesn't matter the ennemy.

Stopped paying them money a while back. Won't spend another dime on this game until it's worth it -- sad thing is, at this rate, that may be quite a long ways off. I wanted to play in PC but avoid it right now, which is total bs. Something as important as PC being decided by which side gets the least lag, framerate issues, bugs, etc. is total bs. Don't spend money on a game that isn't worth it. You'll just encourage more crap rather than an actual polished game.

I've played and lost in PC battles, and its just so frustrating when you feel like your performance could have been so much better if you were playing at more than 3-5 fps. Honestly, most people dont mind losing a match fair and square. But it sucks to lose a match, due to nothing but bad frame rates, and there was absolutely nothing you could have done about it.

I know this is a game with an EVE background but you'd do best to keep your EVE references off this board. I can promise you about 95% of the people who have played Dust have never played EVE let alone know about the history of player actions. Dust looks like an FPS, so people play it expecting to run around and shoot and have fun. Not revel in detailed complex histories of other games.

"sweet... 12 fps FTW!" i heard one of the forum moderators say that there are 6 simple steps to help fix framerate issues: 1. reboot 2. install new harddrive 3. sacrfice a goat to some random diety who presides over all things poorly coded 4. run around your house 4 times yelling "my pants hurt! my pants hurt! my pants hurt!" while covered in grapejelly and motor oil. 5. become a scientologist 6. use an xbox, install halo, place a piece of tape across the tv screen where "halo" pops up that replaces it with a hand written version of "dust 514" if it doesn't work, file a ticket so that they can get around to ignoring it later. The client lag causing law frame rates IS an issue, and it really is a threat to this game. Playing in low or jerky framerate takes away the feel that you are in control of your actions. Because of that, winning or losing matches doesn't matter: it's no fun, leaves bad taste into mouth either way. THAT is not good for the game. I've been serioulsy considering an extreme thing, Making a thread requesting that player maximimums are dropped until fps can be maintained. For PC and pubs. As long as it needs to. If PS3/Dust can't handle more people, leave it like that. Rough, I know. What do you guys think??

It's because your team is US and your team managed to get the server, that's why you are getting the lag, maybe even worse as your traffic travels across ocean to US, then your actions are relayed back to EU while shooting reds, and then the trip gets back. Somethink like that.
