There are a few things CCP did correctly in EVE that should have been, and still should be, implemented into Dust, yet were not. This thread is for voicing your thoughts about what CCP did with EVE that they should have emulated with Dust.
I'll start:
Tech levels that are balanced and actually make sense. Basic Shield Extenders in Dust provide 22 HP. Complex Shield Extenders in Dust provide 66 HP, are fairly impossible to fit on standard dropsuits, and require Level 5 prerequisites. Complex, in general, is at least 300% more effective than Basic. Contrast that with EVE, where Small Shield Extender IIs are a little under 40% more effective than the Tech I variety, only requires Level 3 Shield Upgrades and don't require a Tech II ship to fit properly. EVE does it better than Dust.
Now, it's your turn. What did CCP do right with EVE but not with Dust? |

They set up great T1 ships that covered most roles across multiple sizes (once they realized the evil that is tiers and started tiericide) with nice clean T2 upgrades. The current dropsuit varieties/names standard/advanced/proto is a mess. |

Now That the patch has been out for awhile
Please Tell me Guys if you take anyone serious if they shoot you with a laser rifle?
Or if You have ever been killed by one? So far i havent
Laser Rifle has no use now. |

Laser Rifle has no use now.
I was actually doing quite well when I made an alt and played with it in Instant Battle Academy. It was fairly weak, but when everyone is using Militia Assault Rifles and not Tactical Assault Rifles, it is doable at range. Just more proof that Tactical Assault Rifles are causing many of the problems with Dust today. |

In Uprising, name something CCP did right the first time...?
Scrambler Rifles - Give or take the charge up shot energy consumption.
Burst Assault Rifles - They really are flawlessly well-balanced.
Nova Knives - those are some lethal little fkers now.
Sniper Rifles - After the 10% global increase, and the boosted Charge Sniper Rifle, they are deadly once again (but they are limited by the jacked rendering bug sadly).
Those 4 are working well, and as intended.
I can't speak definitively on much else, except what is NOT done right. |

The Viziam, Thale's, Duvolle, or just about any weapon with sharpshooter proficiency 5 beg to differ. I think I killed a sniper with a Freedom back then too. |

I understand what your OP said.
Hence why said/asked "In Uprising, name something CCP did right the first time...?"
Just slightly off topic, but I tried to name things they DID do right the first time... unrelated to EVE.
I'd say EVE is a bad place to even reference for 'doing things right the first time', since it took them years to get certain things properly balanced.
But for something that they did right with EVE that they are doing correctly here in DUST, I'd say "CSM - CPM".
Allowing for these representatives to serve the community and developers apparently was a big hit in EVE, and it's really seemed to help here in DUST as well. |
