By this I mean get rid of needing to have a weapon to have a valid fit.
Because sometimes I just want to run around punching mercs in the face
(Also do the same for vehicles, if a HAV driver wants to go around without a Large Turret, let him, its not as if hes going to bother anybody) |

I would actually to see this idea explored. I'm curious if there were balance issues tied to the decision or not. Honestly though I think that if you want to run around without a weapon or have a tank or dropship with no guns you should be able to. |

I just wish we could get rid of the grenades in the free fits, since a lot of times they're just a waste of PG/ CPU. |

I can understand your options being limited in the free fits, but when it comes to a clean vehicle or suit you just be able to fit it however you want. The only problem is if this creates unintended consequences. |

Its not as if it would affect balancing too much.
Sure, you could stack more Shield and Armour Ext. but without a weapon you're not a threat to anyone unless you get real close, but even then, you're still not a huge threat.
I say do it, it will add more customization to fits.
It would also create 'Team' tanks, where a Tanker gets rid of his large turret in exchange for having two Small Proto turrets, while being able to tank more damage due to the extra PG/CPU. |

this might be a neat thing that only logistics suits could do, perhaps doing this you could fit much more powerful equipment and modules at the significant sacrifice of a weapon, so you're be a TRUE logistics dropsuit |

I would make the ultimate murder taxi. No turret means another heavy armor plate. then a proto nitros....twice as wide as a LAV. Im already excited! |

I could forsee a really tanky suit running around just for hacking, or a HAV being purely used as a Tanked up CRU. I like these options. Is this game an attempt at a "Sandbox" or not? We need options like this to fully create a sandbox game. A player might not find a need for a weapon, instead maybe he gets by with just Grenades and a rep tool, who knows. |

I'm thinking the only reason CCP did this was because they didn't want to make a running animation without a weapon.
...or model a tank/LAV without a large turret. |

others have made mention of the possibilities, perhaps have logistics light weapon slot be capable of fitting a repair tool? if im TRULY running logistics cause i am terrible with most weapons, i feel i shouldnt be forced to wield a weapon if i choose to be a conscientious objector... i see nowhere in the logistics description 'every logibro a riflebro'
would allow the amarr and cald logistics to be more tanky and get that coveted 4th equip slot while allowing them to focus SOLELY on their role of frontline support.
or perhaps make a 'rifle of healing' that shoots rainbow unicorns(or nanites would seem more lore-relevant) that do minor-moderate direct armor damage to an enemy, or moderate healing to a bluedot. SOMETHING to allow a logi to put that PG/CPU to better use than a standard(preferably bpo) weapon they neglect to dust |
