So, being new to the community, but not new to gaming, I'm more than familiar with fanboys, hell I am one for some companies (Ask me my opinion about Bioware, or Wizards of the Coast) I understand they can be...Unrealistically optimistic, but why so much hate for them.
I like their optimism and dedication, and I never understood the attacks on them.
1 - They won't listen, only vehemently defend what they believe (Right or not)
2 - Even if they did stop defending what they liked, what would you hope to gain from being right?
Just a question, in summary, why all the hate for fanboys? |

IMO there is no real hate for fanboys here, occasion frustrations aside.
The exception of course is from the fanboys natural enemy - the people who go around the forums decrying everything and anything about the game and generally acting like bitter old bastards. |

They want to nerf everything that is fun or interesting.
They disrupt legitimate complaints about broken parts of the game.
EvE is 10 years old is not an argument.
CoD clone is not an argument.
This is New Eden is not an argument.
They tend to be a worst FPS players and so are dependent on their 10 SP to carry them against better players.
They play EvE. |

This part needs to be elaborated.
EvE is farmville in space...that women do not play.
So given the choice between playing farmville with lots of women and farmville with no women EvE players chose the game with none.
Anyway who thinks Metabation trumps real live women deserves ridicule. |

interesting. a lot fps have a female player base. ARMA, Socom, vegas, resistance. Tho MAG, Killzone, and battlefield had almost no girls. and their is dust that does have girls playing. I know, I've spoken to some. (unless its guys who really sound like girls)
weird that eve being mmo like terra and so forth doesn't have a lot of female gamers.

There's a difference between being a fanboy and being optimistic about and supportive of the game. A lot of people dont distinguish between the two. |

Because they give 10/10 ratings, and comment how the game can only get better & has so much potential.

Women tend not to play FPSs. There are some and that is all fine....but they are rare compared to the numbers who play other game genres. Giving up co-ed to play an FPS makes sense. Giving up co-ed to play farmville in space does not. |
