They are very sporadic in when they work. I've spotted guys running in front of me and into cover, used my scanner and it hasn't picked them up, only to be killed by the guy who was behind cover all along.
It's happened on various occasions but I've been trying to figure out whether it's truly broken or not and I am now convinced that it is. Help? |

I've had the scanner be... flakey from time to time. Sometimes it seems to work quite well, others it can't see the medium assault suit who's hiding behind a crate.
I feel the thing needs to come with the equivalent of stereo instructions:
1. Equip your newly purchased scanner and point in the direction of your choosing (the scanner and its manufacturer are not responsible for tactical errors on part of the user **)
2. Stand perfectly still during the scanning process, swaying or jostling the unit is not recommended when in use.
3. If errors occurred repeat steps #1 and #2, if the error persists be wary when proceeding *
* Our scanners are designed to pick up a variety of signatures (please read the product manual for your unit to determine the accuracy of your scanner).
** We are not responsible for the potential death of the user in regards to the use or miss-use of our product. Our unit does come with a 5 battle, one bullet hole warranty. We do not recommend using this product as a blunt instrument to save your own skin.
Sometimes it seems like the scanner only does detect moving people though, and different elevations seem to "block" signals sometimes. Overall though I've had few issues, but when the scanner doesn't work, it REALLY doesn't work. |

I've had the same problem, really inconsistent behavior from match to match. Sometimes it works like a charm, at other times it won't pick up the heavy that walked behind a crate 50 meters in front of me. |

This. I had it work for me this morning and it netted me a few kills, but most of the time it doesn't do much. I might also get someone quickly ping up on the tacnet but then disappear just as quickly. |

I seemed to be having problems with standard level scanner, but with advanced level the thing seemed to work way better. |
