First off what do CCP and CPU stand for in this game I know that CPU has something to do with the amount of space you have on your dropsuits and all that but I'm just wondering with it means. Also what are the most important base skills that you need for the game if any or does it just matter about what you choose for your fighting style. And I'm not really sure how blueprints work or how to get them or what they are so if you could explain that too it would really help. I am just starting out and the game is a little complicated but I get the gist of a lot of it and I'm just trying to get a better understanding of how it all works by reading the forms and asking question.

I'm with you, Billy. Just started. Don't get blueprints / drop suits / loss of items or any number of other things. Still looking for a satisfactory explanation thread.
But, from afew I've found, CPU relates to items added to your drop suit. All weapons / add-ons you put on a drop suit have a CPU usage. Obviously you can't go over your max CPU amount, but I *THINK* you can buy better ones with higher points. CCP is the developer company for the game. Only relevant because they maintain a presence in the forums - as far as I can tell. |

CCP = The company that is developing DUST CPU = Your dropsuits processing ability. Every module you fit to your suit (shield modules, guns, etc) take a certain amount of CPU to run. You suits CPU limits the number and quality of modules you can fit. (should note here that PG - power grid does the same thing, some modules are more CPU heavy, others more PG heavy). Higher quality suits have larger starting CPU and PG values, letting you fit more/better modules.
As for your base skills question, take look at the dropsuit upgrades category. Those are essentially your core skills. They do things like boost your dropsuits CPU output, your PG output, your shield and armor amounts, etc.
To talk about blueprints you first need to realize that every item in dust that you buy off the market for isk is a consumable. When you spawn you have one unit of each item in your fit on you. When you are killed those items are destroyed. The suit, the gun, the modules, etc. Blueprints are items that you buy for AUR that do not get destroyed upon death. They usually only represent the lowest quality items, but you can use them forever without needing to buy more. They are nice for creating low cost / free setups. |

Thanks for your help CCP developed this game, its older brother EVE Online, and World of Darkness (in development).
CPU (I assume is still "central processing unit") in conjunction with PG (powergrid) is what limits your suit and vehicle module fitting capacity as well as the slot lay out.
There are some skills you would find useful on any dropsuit. The first thing you need to figure out is what type of clone mercenary you want to build. Once you know that, you should have a pretty good idea of which weapon and dropsuit you want to use. The best explanation I've found was that your dropsuit is like your house. You can skill into all these fancy modules if you want to, but if you're dropsuit can't fit it, you won't do yourself any good. Does that mean you should go straight to prototype suits and ignore everything else? No. I kept everything as level as I could. When I had standard dropsuits I could use standard and enhanced modules. When I had advanced dropsuits I could use enhanced and complex. Once I hit prototype, all modules were of the complex variety because of the order I increased my skills.
All suits will eventually need CPU/PG skills, either with reduced requirements or increasing the suit's total. I wouldn't focus on them right away, but adding a level to them here and there will benefit you and give you more breathing room with your fittings.
By blueprints I'm assuming you mean blueprint originals which are an infinite supply of a given module, weapon, equipment piece, or dropsuit. They're purchasable using AUR on the marketplace. A few different blueprint originals (BPO) are also available with the different mercenary packs you can get from PSN. These aren't to be confused with blueprint copies (BPC) which are finite.

With the blueprints you can use them forever and they don't run out but are they all only low things that aren't that great or for more AUR can you get better blueprints that are good or is it just in ISK and you have to keep buying it when you run out?? |

All the blueprint originals are the equivalent of militia grade gear. Nothing terribly strong. |

To add to this, not all blueprint originals are militia grade gear. There is a handful of useful standard gear, but it does cost some real cash to actually have a few.
Standard grade stuff includes, 'Toxin' Assault rifle and 'Dragonfly' assault suit, 'Covenant' Sniper rifle and assault suit, and the 'Dren' gear, which is a shotgun, swarm launcher, scambler pistol, and assault rifle, as well as drop suits of all variants (Assault, Logistic, Heavy and Scout) of this current moment. As an added bonus to all these standard grade gear, these do not require any skills to use, so their hefty price, specially for the 'Dren' gear, makes some amount of sense for the cost.

There is also 'Sver' Logistic M-1, 'Valor' Scout G-1 and 'Raven' Assault C-1 in the marketplace that are also standard grade stuff. They however require the correct skills to use these suits. |

Blueprints are items that do not deplete when you die, they are highlighted by their blue outline.
And as for core skills, improving your grenades, weaponry and core skills is good for pretty much any kind of playstyle, and what you select beyond that is entirely up to your own preferences. |
