Following this second respec I am incredibly happy with my character so I could care less if this happens. But I have been reading a lot about characters who are interested in having yearly or paid-for respecs at a future date. I don't really believe that this is a good idea however I have a suggestion as to how it might be plausible in the future.
We are clones and it is our consciousness that is transferred upon death. I would propose that there be an option to undergo a procedure that would allow for the consciousness to be able to respec at a certain point in time. It would come with a cost of say 25% less SP/match and a 15% higher cost to invest in skills (ARBITRARY NUMBERS, JUST READ AS PLACEHOLDERS). Others who know the mechanics of the game could come to a better conclusion as to what the cost should be to have your clone be able to have a respec.
In order to have the procedure it would need to be done at the time of character creation though preferably being given a free option after leaving the battle academy OR if done at a later date it would need to be done for a cost of great ISK and SP. There would essentially be two types of clone soldiers available. Some would have permanent augmentations that would allow for the mercs who have had such a procedure to be flexible at the cost of slower learning (consider it as being a fluid form of ability that can be changed over time that is not as effective as others which are static).
This would not be a solution to the issue of certain racial variants being unavailable at the moment but something more towards the future.
Just a thought, maybe someone has a better idea or something to add.
TL;DR: Allow for an option for characters to be able to have "x amount of respect opportunities" at "x times" at a significant cost to SP gain and the SP price of skills. |

Stop trying to ask for respecs. The only reason why we needed the one in Uprising was because of the changes to the skill tree, and the optional one was for people that got ripped off by bugged or misleading skills. Outside of those two options which break the 4th wall of New Eden because of programming issues, there should be no additional respecs. Make your choices and live with them for once. |

My post wasn't asking for a respec but was simply providing a suggestion for the potential for them in the future. I even opened with saying I was perfectly happy with my character at the moment. I wouldn't want a respec but I had an idea that I thought I would share with the community. Perhaps it would grow into something constructive.
Whether future respecs are possible or not won't change how I play or enjoy the game.
Edit: And I do understand what you are saying. I would not be in favour of an option to respec for an AUR/ISK/Simply time as passed price. I thought this would be a way that it could be done that wasn't incredibly easier or even desirable for players. |

The only times I see more respecs happening will be when they release the new AR's and racial Heavies. |

I suppose this was probably my fault for mentioning a future skill respec at this point in time after all the previous issues.
This was really just meant to be an idea that could at least focus some discussion away from players being entitled to monthy/yearly respecs and towards something new and different.
My apologies. |

Which can be money earned for them, if they introduce an AUR option.
But some sort of period yearly respec would also be interesting.
I see no harm in this coming, and there will always be someone that could make use of it.
How about we give players some options, and stop telling them they have to get "married" to a particular playstyle, for once. |
