I have seen tears from both sides of the field concerning this influx of ISK people didnt earn.
Some folks, like CRONUS wanted the isk removed because it took away the edge of their 'metagame' in PC
But most folks seem to want to keep the isk, because it somehow makes the game fun? or makes up for the previous *FEATURES* that have plauged this game for so long?
Am i the only one whos tired of realizing that the magic of murdering someones 3m isk tank 5 times in the same battle is no longer there?
I only came into uprising with about 150m ISK from the approximately 100 logistics dropships that i couldnt use(other stuff was there, but that seemed to be the largest single source of income)... and the amount of proto suits that isk could afford... the amount of top tiered tanks i could burn... i feel no thrill for dropping a 100k isk suit into a battle... i dont feel bad for corp mates losing a 3m isk dropship... i feel no joy for destroying someones tank... no pain for losing a shiny market item...
i felt the isk influx from uprising was bad enough, the additional 100m+ so many people seemed to have received just ruins any progress weve made at balancing the economy for the last month...
to illustrate my point, with the 300m i currently have, i could afford an estimated 2,000 proto suits at 150k isk/loadout... at 10 deaths a match, 15 minutes/ambush, and 200k isk reward per battle, in 50 hours of play that is 200 battles to run out of suits, a casual gamer would take what? 3-4 weeks to get that many hours in?, and end up with 40m for another 150 some odd suits, another 20 battles. all this assuming an excessively bad loss rate of 10 protosuits/battle... where is the fun in killing such a terrible players proto suits if he doesnt learn anything for over 4 weeks... where is the achievement of scrounging the isk up for a new corps first clone pack to do PC?
where is the meaning in death if we arent allowed to suffer any penalties for being bad? if you really think this isk is good for your enjoyment, why dont we ask them to make crackdeals with call of honor designers to get unlimited gear everywhere for everyone... scrap militia, basic and advanced gear and just make it ALL PROTO ALL THE TIME! scrap the fitting limitations too so that we can fit TOTAL PROTO!!!! |

The thing is, what about when EvE transfers are allowed? It will be the same thing only worse. When people found out about it during closed beta billions were transfered in seconds. |

I don't really care I had a ton of ISK before this extra one so it really doesn't affect me at all if I have it or its removed. |

I don't see why you would run proto all the time. If you lose all your 150 mil or whatever after 220 battles, that doesn't seem all that much to me. And that doesn't include what will likely be even higher costs for certain things down the line. This is the beginning of things to purchase, not the end.
If we follow EVE Online, we will see the introduction of significantly more expensive gear than is currently available. And then there's a question of the point of running proto. Why run proto every match when you could save your isk? Heck, if you can get good at doing well when you're in a cheap suit and everyone else is in proto, that's got to reflect your skill.
I agree though that there's no real reason to petition to keep the ISK other than the natural response of wanting more ISK. The trouble is though, if this is the way the system is now, then it's going to be a bigger problem as spaceships and soldiers economies are merged. I think that CCP will have to boost pricing on gear a little (I was VERY surprised to see prices dropped with Uprising -- completely the opposite of what I expected them to do), rewards by more, and have more expensive items to blow ISK on. Not just expensive vehicles, but expensive infantry stuff too.
Otherwise it won't matter if you keep this extra ISK, unless they put in a spaceships->soldiers tax rate of 80%+ in place. My basic point is, I suppose, that the situation you would like to avoid is almost inevitable as things stand right now, so there's going to have to be other changes anyway.
Feeling sleepy, so this post may not be coherent. |

heh... as much as i hate to admit it... i know this to be a pending issue... ive been warning that if i were allowed to transfer isk from EVE to DUST, i would never not run proto gear...
100m ISK/hour is not unheard of in EVE, you can make this much in empire without major risk of PVP... god forbid you know a miner-alt fleet operation that pulls in approximately 400m ISK/hour worth of ore(14 hulks, 1 combat ship, 2 rorqs... 1 player)...
if they want DUST to not just be spammed by isk from EVE, they will have to increase the payouts and the prices of DUST to reflect somewhat relative numbers to EVE... but then your going to have dust pulling too much isk to be used as an effective ISK sink...
thank god they have a staff economist(or at least had) who knows more about this than i do... |

whoa dude, you just spoke to a pain I didn't even know I felt. You're right, all the extra isk people have makes killing protos just another kill. I hate proto suits now, not because they are tough nuts to crack and are rare on the battlefield, but because everyone and their dog has them and has the isk to lose them repeatedly. Most of these people didn't sit patiently and wait til they had the sp to move from IV to V in the skill. IT WAS TORTURE!
So now I hunt proto suits with a grimace on my face. One day, I will destroy enough isk to make protos once again what they once were |

Feeling sleepy, so this post may not be coherent. Problem here is newbies. Remember, they don't have all the extra ISK we do, so price changes will effect them more than us. |

What good does ISK in my wallet do, I run solo and i dont back down from possible pubstomp matches when the opposing team has stacked teams, in order to take out these guys i need all my gear.
While i can do pretty much the same in militia i need the edge that allows me to engage 4-6 people at the same time without requiring me to min max my tactics at all times, besides the controlls for KBM are still broken so that right there is a huge handicap.
And I also seem to be the primary target in matches allot lately. |

the isk was supposed to be fixed with yesterdays hotfix... a hotfix and downtime later... i still have it and it annoys me.
if you boil it down to the core, this is a tears thread.
i just wanted to see if i was the only one tired of my deaths and kills not having any impact due to the shattered econ caused by the influx of isk.
and someone raised a valid point about the rookies having a harder time than the vet players. having to farm out their SP to get to proto, then the isk to maintain it, its only going ot cause them to champion harder for a matchmaking system thats going to ruin the sandbox and turn it into instanced battles...
matchmaking is something else that i feel will ruin this game, especially in pub matches... but thats a whole other rant... |

The only time there shouldn't be matchmaking is if we get Free Roam PVP. If we get that, it should be able to be the free-for-all clusterfuck that high-traffic systems would be. |

once EVERY PC system opens up, theres going to be fewer battles, the corporations owning them will have more time for the planets to actually make money, and it will be an isk printer... its only going to get worse as far as i have seen.
if it werent for PC, yes, peoples wallets would stabilize... but due to PC, its not going to get much if any better for the foreseeable future. |
