Okay, so here's my take on the matchmaking system and a very very simple fix to being thrown into the big boy room. It may have been already suggested but I haven't looked.
So some people have suggested that you should stay in the Academy room until' you hit 2m SP, but honestly, even 1m SP would be too long. As a new player, I was horrid, the shooting aspect of this game is different from any other FPS I have played on PS3, it's actually very similar to PC games, and they are near impossible to aim with a controller on! and I found the same problem with Dust 514, but I got better with practice. Once I got that practice, I was able to destroy, 24 kills 4 deaths, plus a ton of assists.
If I hadn't been kicked out of the Academy room, then I would have been ruining the game for new players that don't know how to do anything yet! So being able to stay in Academy longer isn't the fix to this problem.
It's simple really, the fix. After Academy, you should be put into another starter room, the medium room if you will. Where you fight until you get 1.5m SP, this will have to be fine tuned, as you don't want your vet players to have incredibly long wait times to fight.
I don't know if this idea will work for the Beta for this reason. But it will undoubtedly work for the full release and when there are 15k + players on at all times.
Thanks for reading. |

I don't like being separated by sp because some of us just suck and will always suck (like me), so once I get a large amount of sp, I would be forced into matches with a higher probability of entire squads running proto's and leaving me with a lovely 2/20 kdr in every match.
I like the idea of being able to choose a public match with meta level restriction or having high sec meta level restrictions. |

Meta level restriction doesn't change your problem at all. You would need WP based lobbies. This game wouldn't work with meta level restriction, there is absolutely nowhere near enough players for that. And even so what is that going to do? I'm just curious, you're going to get into a match with players in the same gear, they are still going to be better than you. Infact I know some elite players will purposely make alt characters just to get into these lobbies. |

The problem is magnified when they are good with good gear. If they had the same gear meta as me, then it would just be their skill that's killing me, which I can handle. Although, I would expect matchmaker to still be in effect and try to separate the good from the bad or balancing the teams (I have no idea what the matchmaker is doing, but whatever it's trying to do, it sucks at it).
I would love a solution to my problem. I'd give any system a try. I think the current system uses kdr, so i'm more than happy to have that lowered with every match (not by choice, it just happens because I die alot).
Separating ppl by sp would help some, but many would just encounter the same problem once they get out of the new bracket. Although, it would be a step in the right direction in trying to help low sp players get a foothold. |
