Ok so, problem : noobs can't catchup to beta vets and the gap is so overwhelming some don't want to try once they realize what they have to do.
The academy is a step in the right direction but it is not enough, CCP could quadruple the sp in accademy but this would make alts OP.
My suggestion is create a progession plateau. In other MMOs when noobs level up in high level areas they get tons of EXP and before you know it they are 1337. I am suggestiing that SP multipliers for the gear you are using. Receive a highly sp multiplier for using militia because using militia in pubs is basically hard mode. Also, receive a multiplier for what you destroy.
"But Sev! What will keep people from all running militia?" Easy, money. It will always be money. If you want to insure that you get the most kills and assists with the least deaths then running proto is still viable.
My other suggestion is to remove, completely do away with SP cap for anyone with less than 5million SP.

I'm at 8mil Sp and my suits are half BP Militia....
Noobs are new because they don't know what to do. Not because they have crappy gear.
In WoW (sorry) I had a lvl 65 rogue killing lvl 80's.

Sorry, still need the caps, because that would ruin the idea of keeping a single man to be at all times in this game. as for helping noobs.. i say they should get a modest bonus to passive SP untill they hit a certain point, something like 2-3mil, and it wont be anywhere near as fast as a booster, but definately faster than what is the standard now. and i think some of the newcommers could petition a vet for help on learning a few things if it comes eown to it |

They could create a scaling factor which is inversly proportional to the sum of the meta levels on the gear.
Actually makes sense. This motivates people to use lower meta gear and get good. |
