Good, critique posts on the state of the game, even with nice dose of them being written by their old guard of trolls, coped with their stellar successes made Imperfects something special in our minds and hearts.
What their leader, now a CPM representative, all did for the community and the passion and quality of discussion their members brought to us via IRC (Telc, Noc, Skytt, Beers...) only reassured this 'something special' image of their somewhat closed, small-in-numbers, elite club.
At one moment I even called them intelligentsia of DUST; beside all the hate and jalousie that was generated toward them, their victories and successes (and their trolls, of course) -- they kept thinking sharp, fresh and bold and kept feeding the community, and hopefully CCP, with ideas on what this game is and what it may become.
To cut the story short, it all fell down when the recent video of a battle with STB was released, together with their internal comms during the match. Shocker.
Growth in numbers and terrible drop of troll-quality (both in content and charisma) was not without reason. Imps lost something they used to have.
Their comms revealed one undisciplined herd, a bunch of first peasant shooters, 16 elite single-players, with a lot of trash and clutter, and with no vision what to do with... objective C and an OB. Let's not even to talk about vision of what DUST is and should be.
My heart broke.
Still some good old Imps from IRC, ones I referred when I talked about the DUST intelligentsia, assure it wasn't always so and that it will change to better again.
I really hope so. I hope recent, far from stellar, results and public leakage of this scandalous match/comms make them change how their internal stuff works and give us back those old Imps -- Imps we as a DUST community deserve.
Wish you luck! |

Just wanted to point out that Omni was our leader, Kain the stellar diplomat. Honestly can't tell you if it is external or internal perception that changed first. |

"It's eve support!"
I don't know who that guy is, bro, but man do I like the way he says absolutely everything two or sometimes even three times, guys. Now that being said, dude, we all knew that's how they were, judging from their forum posts and let's be honest here, Zi, if you thought anyone of them was a charismatic individual you should have asked me earlier and I'd have broke it down for you right then and there.
The bottom line is though, guys, that like them or hate them Imperfects are still have the strongest guys around, and I'm not talking about physical strength here, man. I'm talking about gun game and that's what they've got going for them. Now as far team tactics go, man, I think they will improve that a lot because quite honestly so far they haven't needed any tactics.
That being said I hope they still keep the guy who repeats everything 2,3 times as the battle leader and keep posting these videos on youtube. Keep it up guys! |

Rofl - everyones so butt hurt over one battle. Didn't realize we had so many fan-boys crushed by us losing and having bad comms for a single battle.
We'll try our best to keep the proper image you all want - because that's what the imps care about, right? Your opinions? Lol
Enjoy the game ;) |

My favorite is around 17 minutes when the dude sees calamity, freaks out and kills protoman cancelling the hack, bunny hops a bunch, blows up regnyum then proceeds to get melee'd by calamity. |

If they are talking about the real phil jackson and not some gamer's tags...then I can understand if you dont know him if you live in europe or anywhere out of the states. |

In acknowledgement of this fact, we are going to great administrative lengths to declassify and share with the public some of our groundbreaking practices, methods and protocols. This is the Prometheus Initiative. Ensuring that the tools of the Gods are available to you mere mortals, so that you might grow and evolve. The first release is attached. //Attachment /Prometheus_Initiative_0001.psv /Decoding... Complete. >Imperfects Declassified Emergency Response Protocols (I DERP)Good day to you, mercenary hero! Congratulations on your acceptance into the Tomorrow's Imperfects Today program. You're well on your way to becoming a certified TIT. In your previous lesson, we explained how the electrodes we've attached to your arm can automate trigger presses at superhuman speed... but it's no good being a glorious badass with a Tactical Assault Rifle if you don't know where the enemies are! Today you will be instructed on communicating strategy and relaying tactical information efficiently in the heat of battle. Important Considerations:
- Do not allow radio silence until each mercenary has drawn his last breath. Though our communications are encrypted, it is likely that the opponent is scanning the available channels and will use the distinctive pattern of static that an occupied but encrypted channel creates to determine whether you are still in the area. A constant stream of menacing noise will provide an effective reminder that you remain engaged with the enemy and is a recommended method of psychological warfare.
- At the start of the engagement, quickly and methodically establish which combat role each mercenary will fill. An example of an acceptable exchange follows:
Quote:A: BRO WHO IS OUR SLAYZORS?
B: ME BRO, I AM OUR SLAYER BRO. BRO.
A: LOL BRO SHUT UP WHO IS OUR SLAYZORS FOR REAL?
B: ME BRO. I'M A SLAYER. I AM RUNNING
C: BRO, [B] IS A SLAYER, BRO.
B: TOLD YOU. SCRUB.
A: LOL
B: LOL
C: LOL
A: BUT WHO IS SLAYZOR FOR REAL?
- Mercenaries often awaken in their clones with a slight disorientation. Studies have proven that an effective remedy for this disorientation is to clearly explain the obvious functionality of commonly used equipment to trigger a feeling of familiarity in your comrade. The most common example of this is for one of the twelve Field Commanders to explain the functionality of a drop uplink in what would otherwise be unnecessary detail.
- Insulting one another creates a sense of camaraderie and reinforces group cohesion.
- It can often be difficult to determine the priority of any given piece of information. To effectively communicate this, first rate the information you are relaying on a scale of 1 to 10, then repeat it that many times. Examples follow.
LEVEL ONE COMMUNICATION wrote:Guys, there are reds at the objective.
LEVEL THREE COMMUNICATIONS wrote:EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT.
LEVEL NINE COMMUNICATIONS wrote:EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT. EVE SUPPORT.

Yes I do live outside the US, and yeah, I don't sometimes understand what the American youth out here in the Dust 514 forums is trying to communicate. That's why I really appreciate the guy who says everything two or three times, because if I don't get it the first time, I might be able to understand it the second or even the third time! |
