Howdy CCP,
I really don't want a respec everytime you guys adjust weapons stats. But it seems you guys will be putting out more weapons and then adjusting the ones you already have.
As most of us closed beta testers know when you decide to "adjust" something it usually becomes the worst weapon available in that class. And for those of us unfortunate enough to be spec'd into it, we have to deal.
I guess I'm wondering how you guys are going to justify this to the fan base if you DON'T give respecs when you make core changes to weapons. I have 3 proto-weps atm, 1 AV, 2 light weapons.
Of course right now I use the TAC. This will be getting nerfed and I agree it needs it. The changes you have mentioned in this thread: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=869944#post869944 would seem to alter the paradigm of AR's again.
You are rolling out respecs this week, which is nice I admit. Lots of people made mistakes with the new skill tree etc. But when you put out these new weapons and adjust the old ones you will be dramatically shifting the game again.
So the player base can either A) Save enough SP to spec into new weps B) Deal with changes made to weps we already have proto in C) Cry for another respec because of said changes.
I do understand the need to balance the game and adjust things as needed, but I hope you understand you are altering our "choices" after they have already been made.
Thanks.

I don't see any point in giving respeccs due to balance changes in the game, it all goes around, yesterdays laser rifle could be tomorrows fotm. It isn't like you're losing skillpoints, chosing what to use skill points on is your choice and if you choose to spend it on fotm it shouldn't be surprising that the fotm might get nerfed. |

I could've sworn they said they were gonna give the last respec after some major balance changes yet they're giving the respec out without any changes they mentioned yet which confuses me.
They also haven't added the missing weapon archetypes for all racial variants.
I get a feeling we're getting another respec. |

Same thing happens in Eve Online and we never get a reimbursement.
Albeit, the Dev team for Eve Online is a bit more cautious about their changes. They don't do massive 60% increases to HP values but more subtle things like changing 258 Armor to 250.
Just as a general example.

At the very minimum I would expect to be given back the SP that was put into weaponry if they do make major modifications. |

Couldn't you just use the normal AR if the TAR get to be bad after all this?
In the meantime, the heavy will have their one and only Amarr racial suit to choose, forcing them to skill into it to perform, and we wont receive any respec when we will get them, soon tm.
I guess it is fair to bring changes to weapon which are like the TAR without respec. To bad people need to keep respec'ing and use the best weapon around all the time to be able to perform.

It's not a matter of specing into the FOTM. If people didn't think the TAR was going to get nerfed, they are delusional. I spec'd into another light weapon because I knew it was coming (called planning ahead).
This thread is about how CCP is going to deal with the massive amounts of changes they still have to make to the games equipment. If you haven't noticed, we still don't have 1/2 the equipment and gear they said is coming.
When they impliment more weapons and more suits (esp. for the heavies and scouts) is CCP going to offer another respec?
If I was a heavy or a scout and they put in the rest of the suits, I would damn sure want a respec.
As it stands now, I don't want another one... but what option does CCP have other than offering another respec for these suits/weapons. This new equipment will once again alter the game.

And that makes sense - you tinker until happy. Keep ticking something up or down until it plays out how you envisioned. |

CCP hasn't been slowly adjusting anything, but they did state in the post I linked "If that change alone does not prove enough we will walk the damage of the TAR down slowly. No big, sweeping changes this time."
Slow, small changes in order to balance is the wtg, don't understand why this approach wasn't followed with all the weapons.
