While I am making my reports I will be having some interesting cumulative data just sitting around.
I'm putting this thread out here to gauge interest in a few Ideas I had, and to see if you guys had any idea or things you want to see tracked.
#1 Legacy Ranking
A simple ranking number where a Corporation/Alliance gets 1 point for every district they hold each day. -Extremely Simple for me to track -Shows long term influence from groups/creates an extremely basic view into PC over time. -Could be tracked on a line graph to show changes of district ownership over time.
#2 W/L
(Districts taken through combat) / (Districts lost through combat) -Favors mercenary corps that conquer and dump land -As corps reach their size limits they will only be able to maintain a 1 W/L
#3 Competitive Rankings [ELO]
-A more inclusive W/L tracking system so a Win vs PRO is valued differently than a Win vs Imps. -Ringers could create false strength or weakness (need to have match reporting to avoid this) -Still relies on district flips as a victory and a district loss as a loss (missing a majority of the battles).
These are just a few really simple ideas I had please let me know what you think of them. I'll put some more thought into the ideas and perhaps add some more, just wanted to get a conversation going, and see if anyone else had any interesting ideas. |

Would be good-to-know, but not really a good proxy for influence, power or skill. A small corp which has a stranglehold on a few well-managed districts in a strategically important system with the backing of an alliance has possibly much more power than a huge corp holding districts dispersed all over the universe.

I think these are more useful, as they won't try to gauge the influence of a corp, merely their battle prowess.
Even #3 is possible to game when PC is opened up: set up dummy corps, battle them up against each other in far reaches of the universe to get their w/l up, win PC battles against them with your real corp. Why one would go through all that trouble is questionable, unless your tables will have a meaningful impact on fees merc corps can command, or CEOs really need the e-peen enlargement. |
