As a father of two, I can say from observation that a lot of parents don't want to be parents. It's not an issue with mature content affecting someone's child, it's about the parent being afraid to discuss these things with their kids to relate them to real life situations. That's why we have the stork delivering babies story and why you have parentactivists freaking out when their kid comes across something that could be considered taboo on TV or in video games and they rather blame society than their own faults at parenting by allowing access to that form of media.
