Assault Rifle --> Phase Rifle
The Assault Rifle isn't the only Assault Rifle anymore. Its name should be changed to reflect that. Some proposed Blaster, which I think is used too much in New Eden. Some proposed Plasma Rifle, which I think is used too much everywhere else. For those who don't understand the name, Phase Cannons are a variant of Blaster Cannons.
Rail Rifle --> Gauss Rifle
Gauss Rifle was a superior name from the get-go. Why they changed it I have no idea.
Scrambler Rifle --> Pulse Rifle
The Scrambler Rifle shares only one property with the Scrambler Pistol: It's a pulse laser. It does not deal extreme damage on headshot, and thus it should not be called a Scrambler Rifle. It should be called a Pulse Rifle.
Combat Rifle --> Combat Rifle
I approve. It fits the Minmatar's style, and it doesn't imply that it is the only Assault Rifle out there.
Shotgun --> Ion Scattergun
Scattergun is another word for Shotgun, and the Gallente Shotgun presumably shoots the same stuff as Ion Blasters.
MagSec SMG --> Magpulse Carbine
I don't think anyone would argue here... What does MagSec mean, anyway?
Rail Pistol --> Bolt Pistol
Why? Because we don't need every railgun weapon start with the word "rail". |

Like said in the other post would I suggest something more technical like the new suit names.
Gallente Proto AR = gAR.1
Caldari Standard AR = cAR-1
etc. |

In my opinion this is the best labeling I have seen,
I'd prefer Magsec over Magpulse due to the association with pulse with lasers.
Also Laser rifle should be beam rifle

I want to Like this twice, but I can't. Amazingly thought out. For you, you get Good Grammar in Replies. Maybe you could think of another Variant for these weapons. Not the Amarr however, as they already have their Rifle Slots filled up with 2 Variants. |
