Renaming planets would be sort of silly, especially in High/LowSec areas of space. If you can name a planet in NullSec sure since the vast majority of NullSec systems have no name other than a combination of letters & numbers (ex. M-MBRT is a system in Wicked Creek and each planet is M-MBRT I, M-MBRT II, etc.)
I would strongly prefer the naming of planets to be left alone, but the districts to be namable like you can do with a player owned station in EVE. Of course names like "GIJoe date **** memorial" or "GIJoe surprise sex memorial" might pop up, but I'm sure CCP will simply rename those to more appropriate "GIJoe sex memorial" and so forth.
As far as payment levels go, AUR should probably be the currency of choice as it would require a micro-transaction with CCP/Sony to get the needed Aurum to pay for the renaming. This helps promote the AUR purchases as well as, well, lines the pockets of CCP so they can make things work better and better. The issue we also face is, how would that impact the economy of AUR once the EVE/DUST economies merge? I leave that up to Dr. Eyjo Gudmundsson (@CCP_DrEyjoG) to handle the heavy lifting on. |

you don't need the ability to name planets or districts you can just call them what you want. You called your planet SVER Prime. We call it Regnum's Toilet because we **** all over stb.
Maybe they will let you name the highsec pub matches you guys can play in. |

I think it should involve planets first there are thousands of nameless planets in New Eden.
The bigger question is...
What conditions would be you able to name the planet? |

By those "nameless" planets are you referring to places such as "Jita IV" or specifically to the planets/systems in NullSec that have no actual name (i.e. CCP-US, VPLL-N, EC-P8R) to have the individual planets named?
I have no quarrels with NullSec having the planets renamed, since that makes sense. But to name/rename a planet in a HighSec/LowSec system seems, rather, counter to the lore in that aspect of the game as the "Empires" (read: NPC) control and regulate that region. NullSec seems far more suitable as the players actually run things out there, and renaming the planet to say "MichaelBoltonIII's Disco Parlor" or so is far more along the sandbox elements you find in NullSec than you would find in HighSec/LowSec. |

Naming planets and districts on planets is really a no brainer, hold the sov name the planets, control the district name the district. Of course these vanity titles should come at a hefty price, and can be changed by subsequent owners for an even greater price. Like adding a second war dec costs more then just having one.
I think the naming is an important step in making players take and feel ownership of what they are doing in the EVE universe. I have a toon that is in a null sec alliance and when we gained control of the sov in systems naming the stations was something we all had the chance to participate in, a corp wide contest to come up with the best name. Allowing players to involve their corp mates to personalize the game is a big plus from my point of view.

If a corporation or alliance owns a planet you should be given the option to give a name. This would be the name you see in ( ) Eve side and not the System Name and Planet number nomenclature. A great intangible for people to fight for.

my succesion for Conditions: 100% planet owned min. of 250 clones in every district.
You pay a fee of 1*10^9 ISK to Concord (ISK-sink) or to the hosting NPC-alliance.
Also you should be able to rename every planet from 0.4 and lower as long as it hasn't got a Historical name like Pike's Landing And everyplanet should be named right and not downnumbered like they do to Hed amake II wich is Pike's Landing. We don't call our Planet Sol III: Earth |
