Starting this up as a resource for the numerous other mouse users lamenting the current state of mouse support in Dust. The mouse you use can play a major factor in whether you can tweak things to work well or not with the current issues.
Please help keep this to just info; no mouse vs controller debate, no complaints about or requests to fix mouse and keyboard support in Dust. I'd like this to solely be a resource people can reference when looking into purchasing a Mouse that might work better for them in Dust.
I would recommend keeping things easy-to-read and simple.

Logitech G500[
Recommended Settings:
Controller X Sensitivity: 100 Controller Y Sensitivity: 100 Controller Aim Assist: Disabled
Mouse X Sensitivity: 100 Mouse Y Sensitivity: 100 Mouse Smoothing: Disabled
PS3 Pointer Speed: Fast
On-Mouse DPI Setting: 3 (Fast)
Summary:
Overall performance is above-average to good. Precision and speed are sufficient for the majority of situations. Toggling On-Mouse DPI to 2 (Neutral) is useful for fine-aim when counter-sniping a well-positioned opponent. Turret turn-speed is fair when LAV is stationary or manning a HAV's turret (driver or gunner).
Issues: Turn-speed when using fixed turrets is horrible and will require as much as 0.5 meters travel to turn the turret 30 degrees. Turn-speed is nowhere near sufficient for manning a moving LAV's turret, and shooting at an enemy LAV while your LAV is moving is near impossible. |

don't know what to say but i'm using an mx 518 with default sensitivity settings, mouse smoothing is disabled, haven't tested disabling controller aim assist. Anywho why i'm posting is that i've got no probs, works like a charm only problem is the problem with turrets you mention.
Also i use the mouses own sensitivity control buttons to change what i need at different times speed wise. |

Hmm...what if your using an eagle eye? That also has its own settings in it that you can program to further help you reach your optimal sensitivity setting. Also, only certain mice and keyboard work well with it. I have a rat 7 mouse and razer kb.
Rat 7 Lowest dpi is at 3500 (3 other setting that are higher, all the way upto 6400)
Ps3 Fast
In game setting 50
Eagle eye advanced calibration X and Y are maxed out (i believe 20 is the highest sensitivity)
With all these settings the rat 7 works amazingly. At one point i had everything maxed and out and i was turning to quickly and my aim was all over the place. Had to knock everything down a bit. Now it moves just as well as a ps3 controll and with a simple click of a button i can move and thurn faster then one but it can be to fast if you dont fine tune it well enough. |
