In order to better help our players, I feel that every CPM should have the ability to test out whatever part of the game is causing trouble without having to use their primary character to do so. If for example certain players were having issues with tanks, CPM members could then use these characters to test out the problem in pub matches.
That said, these characters should be specifically designed to test the game and not anything else. For example, they should not be able to run in any PC, FW, or any matches that have some impact on the game. They should also not be used to just run around using the best equipment dominating. They should be used to try and duplicate a situation as best as possible.
For instance, testing out the TAC rifle would begin with the advanced version using advanced suits, and slowly moving up towards proto until they have found at which point the weapon becomes overwhelming.
This way, we can have firsthand experience coming from our trusted CPM's no matter the situation. |

I'm not sure if that's a good idea or a bad idea. I could see 'some' abusing this power. Not all just some. |

I feel it makes more sense for us to elect those who stand representative of issues we have. If you feel that X weapon is completely inferior to Y weapon(s) then you should elect someone who shares your sentiments and will bring CCP's attention to the problem.
The only time CPM should have access to all V characters is while they are meeting with CCP in Iceland. I know we haven't been able to make our first CPM election but still, this is what they are for. |

we need access to the test server like in EVE, just so we can all experience the "WTF" moments when things work fine on a server with almost no traffic compared to the one we play on. |

To be honest, i never though of that and it's actually a good idea. They would need to have a very clear name CPM CPM CPM CPM. so it's obvious if one of use abuses it by using those in Corp Battles.
Though, i dont know if i'd ever the time to use those lol
Thanks for the suggestion, i'll take that to CCP. |

I'd be fine with it if they were not Corporation Affiliated and had no access to corps/squads. Solo only.
You can't give feedback or an opinion on something you have no clue about, so who's to say whether or not a Prototype weapon is effective against 'x' enemy if the CPM is just going on the community's word? |

No.
This would be a horrible idea.
Honestly? No one should have access to an all L5 character and be able to play with 'normal' characters.
I suppose it'd be possible to give pretty much /everyone/ an option to make a max skilled dude for 'testing' and completely segregate those characters into separate matchmaking from 'normal' characters... but I fail to see the point beyond "I want to try something I don't have skills for" and much like SiSi it would basically turn into people using all the best stuff for pvp with a very small minority actually 'testing' and I'd rather see those people playing the actual game, tbh.
I mean, I'm torn. I want to see a test server, but I'd rather see them fix the game first :( |

Test server would be a bad idea. With the mentality that FPS players have, there's absolutely no reason to come back to Tranquility when they can just Ctrl+Alt+Delete+Cheat the game. Instant Gratification taken to a whole new level.
Unless of course they make it like SiSi in Eve Online and you can still only use the things you have the skills for, which I'd imagine there'd be some protest about.
Besides that, Nova Knife, you say that no-one should have access to an all L5 character and be able to play with 'normal' characters, but I feel that that reason right there is the reason the game has become the way it is.
Were it up to me, I'd say that every CCP Developer would be required to play the game themselves, with or without an all L5 character (it doesn't really matter) and see personally how things work out with the content they continually change. The Eve Online devs do this and they find the things that are just terrible to work with (and such, corporation bookmarks were implemented) |

I understand where you are going, but I think somehow implementing a test server would be a much better option. |
