A GÇ£CGÇ¥ shaped valley with 3 objectives, A on the left side half way up, B in the top right arm of the valley and C in the bottom right. In the middle is a mountain connected to the right side of the map by a ridge.
-The top of the mountain is flattened so a Sniper can never cover more than a third of the Valley.
-The ridge has a tunnel through it, but it has no cover in the tunnel. (Choke point) Put defensible positions with good cover at either end of the tunnel with a field of fire that covers the tunnel from end to end.
-The ridge has a road over it with lots of switch backs which makes it almost as long as going around the mountain, but the road does have some cover.
-The mountain should have many ways to get up on foot and a few windy roads as well. It should be covered in outcrops, goat trails, ravines, bunkers, tunnels, and maybe put a bombed out ruined structure at the top.
-Have three turrets on the mountain that cover the three objectives, and turrets covering both sides of the tunnel.
-Objectives B and C should have some fairly good cover (buildings), while objective A (on the middle left) should be more open like A in Manis Peak.
Implications for game play: -As well as the objectives, holding the top of the mountain and the tunnel would also be strategically important.
-A Sniper cannot cover more than one objective at once, but can run quickly between locations that cover each of the objectives.
- The mountain would become a game of cat and mouse between Snipers and the Scouts which hunt them.
-The tunnel could be a quick way of getting from B to C, but can be covered easily by one or two people (Sniper, Heavy, etc.) or a tank. Which would force people to go the longer way.
-A tank would also be useful for an advance through the tunnel. It could provide moving cover for the infantry.
-If the Tunnel is held, then a Dropship would be a major advantage for moving from B to C.
-The mountain provides some cover for Dropships from individual threats. Would probably need to have some mountains on the outside that they can duck behind as well.
-The choice of taking the long windy roads over the mountain, or going around the mountain would make the map seem bigger than it actually is.
-If a team only has A, they would probably want to take control of the tunnel before taking B or C to prevent a rapid response from the other side of the ridge. If a team holds both ends of the tunnel, they can move from B to C quickly. |
