Well, maybe nerf the TAC a little (limit ROF).
I agree the TAC is slightly OP but it's not super OP. It's just that most other weapons are underpowered.
I think for starters all weapons should receive a 20% range increase.
Not even thinking about balance here, it just feels stupid to have bullets magically vanish from reality at 50 yards. It feels stupid to see a bunch scrambler bolt disappear 5 feet from my face.
20% range bonus is just a beginning ofc. Some weapons are simply unusable.
Mass Driver feels like you're launching pillows.
Laser Rifle is more blinding than it is lethal.
Shotgun pellets apparently disappear 1 foot in front of the barrel.
Scrambler Rifle, standard AR are about right imo. |

Combat is already too quick to have many tactical operations.
I vote Nerf. Unless you want to buff all the armor and shield values in addition tot he other weapons. |

I'd much prefer nerfs to buffs. Buffing everything else would put us on the path to a power creep, and no one wants that. |

They just need to sync the rate of fire with a decent trigger finger. At the moment those modded controllers, and edited mouse controls shoot faster than the AR, and the Tactical Assault Rifle (TAR, not TAC). I've used the Duvolle TAR and mostly use it for the range of fire bonus, scope, and I've always been a fan of semi automatic. |

I have not had a chance to use the Duvolle TAR, (scout player, no room to fit it) but I can say that I love the GLU. What I don't like about the GLU is that I burn through bullets fast. After using the Scrambler Pistol for 7 months, i'm used to the trigger and shooting 10 or 11 bullets instantly. The range on the SP is like 80m, and Chromosome's skills let me increase that range. Now I've got a gun that fires the exact same way as my pistol. even with shields<120, Armor < 80. If I see you first you're dead. Way better than the Laser, my previous light weapon, because it doesn't show the whole world where you are. |

The weapon itself isn't broken. I don't even think it's being used in a way that conflicts with the vision CCP had for it. How could you develop games for a living and apply the stats to it, but fail to realize that modded controllers and programmable mice are going to become rampant?
There is no way anyone can convince me that CCP didn't understand what would happen when the TAC was unleashed. You cut out the range from the sharpshooter skill and of course people will flock to a weapon with longer range. Despite it being a "single shot" weapon it has a higher ROF than the other ARs.
If they didn't see it coming then I'll just keep that response to myself. |

Nerf TAR range, increase SR range. That'll balance things out.
EDIT: As it stands right now, the TAR does more shield damage at max range than an SR, in fact, the TAR does overall more damage at any range than a SR, which isn't how it's supposed to be. |
