I'm fairly certain alliance creation has to be done through EvE.
If you're at the stage it's actually sane to create an alliance, then you'll have EvE support anyway though. |

As far as I'm aware EVE players are still the only ones with the option to create/join an alliance. |

Yes but some corps out there dont want eve support just yet , there should atkeast be an option for making corp alliances threw dust |

I remeber the devs saying a while ago that they dont know how it will work in dust which i am not getting at all. This is definately something that is needed though |

As it stands alliance creation must be done in EVE. While we haven't added the ability to do it in DUST yet, that does not mean we won't. As it stands there is just so other stuff we need to do that we think is higher priority. |

I think that Social Interaction should be a very high priority, given that we're out of Beta yet still have to rely on EVE to do simple things such as forming an alliance, managing chat channel and other social functions. It's ridiculous SoxFour, ya'll shouldn't of released the game in such a state, get the basics sorted before moving on to "High Priority" things. |

Would it be possible/feasible for groups with no EvE support make petition/ticket to CCP to create their alliance for them? If so setting up a "template" for CEOs to fill out would be a good idea, just as a temporary fix. |

i think fixing the weapon ranges and balancing the different suits is going to be higher priority than making aliances becuase imbalance will deter new games. and you need a large player base for this to work. they have a great idea with dust and are very close to being one of the first balanced shooting games. since most ceo's are also eve players this isnt a big problem until later on, when more dustites become ceo's of their own corporations. ya digg?

Social interaction is definitely not higher than gameplay mechanics, enjoyability, and balance.
So, please CCP, if you had to choose, then ignore dust alliances for now. I'm losing players due to gameplay mechanics and foolish unbalances that are allowed to carry on. And if I'm losing players, then so are you CCP. I'm trying to do my part...you guys should as well.
Edit: @ OP, it doesnt matter whether your alliance is official anyway. You can squad up anyone you feel like right now. |

I think one of the things that puts it on the back burner is that it costs 1 billion ISK to start an alliance...how many Dust-only corps have that kind of ISK?
The skill requirements probably don't help either... |

From the EvE wiki
"Forming an Alliance costs 1,000,000,000 ISK. Maintenance costs are 2,000,000 ISK per month for every corporation in the alliance. So for example an alliance with 10 member corporations would cost 20,000,000 ISK per month in maintenance fees."
In EvE you also need to have trained Empire Control skill to level 5.
So even if they did make it possible to form an alliance DUST side new skills would have to be added to the Corporation tree.
So at the moment you need to set it up EvE side. |
