Hello all. I am new to New Eden and upon crossing the 10,000WP barrier I was thrown from my comfortable "Academy" matches to the a$$-kicking, "i suck at this game" real matches. I've been asking for advice on how to fix this insane gap in play styles, and besides the obvious solutions such as practice, gear, etc., the solution I've seen most is to play with a corp that doesn't mind recruiting and helping beginners, hence this thread. I've searched through all the WE WANT YOU threads but that brought back some bad memories, so I figured I'd reach out on a more personal level in the search for a suitable corporation...instead of just fishing through all the Wanted ads.
I am new to Dust...about one month in..., but I am no stranger to FPS. I am United States Marine Corps retired so if there are any devil dogs reading this, give me a shout...I could use some help. I am taking a tactical approach to my entry into dust and would like to join a well organized, professional corporation to reflect my discipline, dedication, and desire to grow as a better dust merc. I am currently building a heavy centered around the defense of key locations. No I am not another newbie spamming the heavies...I don't run and gun, but I will stop the enemy from reaching that key objective. My char is just shy of 1,000,000sp so he is by far not competitive enough to fight with the big boys..I am careful in what I spend my sp on, but could use some real advice on my build as I am about to break into the advanced gear market for the first time. I have a feeling I'm on the right track, but again, advice would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, that's my story. I am a regular player. Even with a full-time job and kids, I still find time to log 3-5+ hours a night. I am located on the east coast USA. I have a mic/headset, so I am communication-ready. I'm searching for a corporation that doesn't mind showing us newbies the ropes. Once I find my footing, I assure you I will be a tactical asset to your corporation.
Thanks in advance to all who view and reply.

I am only 16, but i salute you and thank you for your service to our country. My great grandfather was a US Marine in WWII and my grandfather also served as a Marine as well, but was never sent into battle. I feel as though you may be a bit too mature for the group my corporation is targeting, i can and will very gladly offer you advice. First off, go for the advanced armor first. I need inforamtion to help you further...
P.S. if you havent found this out already, never run into battle without a plan. I'm sure you have already figured this out from real life experiences, but if you havent, now you know. |

Great story. Our core values were built upon those laid down by men such as your great grandfather and grandfather. And yes, I am looking to join a corporation big on structure, organization, tactics, and overall fun. It is a game in the end, but a competitive one at that. Thanks for the reply. |

I visited your website, but found no information on your corporation. It also stated that you aren't accepting any recruits. Is there a reason for this? |

sorry for the inconvinience |
