I'm been playing Dust for a few months but only switched from scout to logistics with the Uprising release. I'm closing in on 4 million SP and just requested an SP respec with the new skill tree revamp. I'm hoping that I can get some answers from fellow logibros.
1) I'm a casual player located in the Pacific Time Zone and I'm throwing this out to see if there are any corps looking for casual players taking on the more traditional logistics role (i.e. dropping spawn points and nanohives, getting killed by snipers while trying to find the magic spot for the nanite injector, the usual). I ask this because there are a lot of corporations and I've only played instant battles. Not sure how my approach to the game changes if I join a corp that participates in PC or factional battles. (I'm not sure exactly how corp battles differ from instant battles). Are there any corps that I should be looking at or staying away from?
2) I'm looking for feedback for respecing my character into a role useful for corporate battles. Currently, I invest in advanced gear (dropsuit, nanohives, uplinks, weapons) and use bread-and-butter AR's. However, I still run mliitia reppers and nanite injectors to cut down on fitting costs. Stepping up to corporate battles, do I need to get prototype gear to be a competitive logistics player? If so, what would you recommend (e.g. prototype nanite injector vs. prototype dropsuit)? Also, should I be looking into investing SP into a logistics LAV, I've only read about them being murder taxis and that some of the functions don't work(?). Currently, I have no SP invested in vehicles, turrets or corporate skills;my process is to get an advanced Minmitar dropsuit, advanced AR and invest the rest of my points in dropsuit upgrades (i.e. CPU/PG upgrades, shield/armour) and loggie equipment (e.g. advanced nanohives and uplinks). |

Greetings Da Master Beta,
1. So far as in reagrds to which CORP you should seek/avoid, nobody would literally be able to give you an honest run-down, because each CORP is different in many various facets. In the end the deciding factor will be your own opinions of the CORP. Not to sound inconclusive, but play-styles for Logis vary from person to person; this thread - Guide to Logibros - demonstrates many different approaches to being a logistics player and also gives insight to logibros new to our service. My style is like yours, remaining behind my team; healing weakened teammates, dropping nanohives, and littering the green earth with uplinks. Thus I can state that this style of play is still viable for use within more elaborate battles (PC, FW, etc.).
2.IMO; Logistics should focus on their Dropsuit . Consider that higher level Logistic suits have multiple slots for tools which is a neccesity, also since I mentioned tools, focusing in the tools themselves -Repair Tools, Drop Uplinks, Nanohives, and Nanite Injectors- is also a necessity to Logistics. Higher levels gauge the usage of more formidable tools. The dropsuits CPU/PG should also be raised to it's limit - you don't want to have to be stuck deciding between tools just because you don't have sufficient CPU/PG for all. Afterwards, I would concentrate on the combative properties of your character. Here you could split between Personal of Vehicular; depending on your play-style.
TL;DR: 1. Play Logibro as the way you would like to. 2. Level up things pertinent to Logibro. Everything else will come eventually.
Also, there is this CORP called ARKLINE that is recruiting. If your are interested please check ARKLINE out.

======================================================================================
In the vastness of New Eden, war is rampant. Mercenaries are little better than starved dogs who fight for the scraps that the MEGA-CORPs and GOVERMENTS refuse. In Arkline, we seek for those who are dedicated and committed, who will struggle for a greater cause; and there is no greater cause than fighting for those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for you GÇôCORP brethren. Players of all skill levels are invited to apply and join. In joining expect to strive for your fellow Corp mates as you can expect them to strive for you.
Arkline is a new CORP recently forged within DUST 514 and the EVE universe. Recently crafted, it should be obvious, that this Corp has room to grow and of our greatest priorities is to grow with our fellow members. As I was once fond of stating GÇ£no man will be left behind,GÇ¥ and I still adhere to that conviction.
Our mission statement: Create a CORP that will mark our endeavors across the Cosmos not by the severity of the obstacles that we overcome, but by the experience of overcoming those obstacles with those whom we could consider friends, comrades, and even brothers.
ARKLINE is seeking recruits.

Thanks Jofur. I am a little reluctant to run a prototype dropsuit because of the huge cost gap from advanced (8k to 50k), especially since I'm just doing pub matches now. I run two fittings: repper-nanohive-uplink and repper-nanonive-nanite injector. I'm not sure if other logistics players run just one jack-of-all-trades fitting for corp battles or swap between specializations (assuming that they have access to a supply depot or just die a lot). If I had a prototype suit, my thinking would be to shield tank since I unlocked complex shield extenders and I would run a single repper-nanohive-uplink-nanite injector. Is this what other logibros run in their corporate matches? |

No worries Da Master Beta,
LOL! I wouldn't suggest running Proto-gear -unless you are really confident in your gear- during PuB matches. To give you an idea, this my PuB suit: Sever Logistic BPO suit (which is aurum bought) with two variations of the suit of which I deploy. The basic set-up between both is Repair Tool and Nanite Injector, the variation comes in usage between either Uplink or Nanohive.
As far as shields and armor is concerned. It depends solely on play-style. Shields and Armor will way you down, but you will be able to last within the thick of battle for a while longer than expected; down sides your maneuverability is kaput. Relinquishing Shield and Armor and removing all precautions for Speed and Maneuverability, will give you the access to distance yourself from fire fights, as well as reach Squad members in need of support; but you get caught within the midst of a fire fight it will be a short experience for you.
So, it really just depends on your style.
