Now we all know who has the advantage between a new player with default gear and a experienced player with 12M SP also using default gear. With 12M SP, it is very likely the experienced player has levelled all of his base skills where even though he is using the same gear, he will have more armor, more shield, more weapon accuracy, etc from him having higher base skills. Therefore, the experienced player has all of the advantage and the new player has all of the risk. In such a situation, how would this inspire new players to play? Not to mention that the more experienced player will likely be using greater gear putting the new player at a two fold disadvantage. Furthermore, with the respec from beta where players from then are almost billionaires, where exactly is the risk at all as ISK and gear are no longer a real risk. Due to that, I devised the following equations to equalize risk across all SP levels:
Quote:- 0M-2M=0 ISK per clone
- 2M-4M SP/1000x1.0=ISK per clone
- 4M-6M SP/1000x1.5=ISK per clone
- 6M-8M SP/1000x2.0SK per clone
- 8M-10M SP/1000x2.5=ISK per clone
- 10M+ SP/1000x3.0=ISK per clone
The way I devised the equations above is EVE and DUST are simulations of theorized real life events. Now today, everyone is familiar with cloud storage. Well, think of as your character's SP increases, your clone's memory increases equally. And referring back to cloud storage, you have to pay for how much storage you intend on using where we you have to do the memory transfer to your new clone, there is a cost involved. According to the equations above, if you have 3M SP, you will be paying 3K ISK a clone yet if you have 12M SP, you will be paying 36K a clone. I am not a mathematician and do not think these figures will automatically work for current play but I would like to see about CCP using such an equation per clone to equalize the risk across all SP levels. And for those curious, I have 8.5M SP so by my own recommendations, I should be paying 21,250 ISK per clone and I would be fine with that as I use mostly advanced gear and have 200+M ISk. |
