CCP.
I'm sure you all have seen the movie.
I'm sure, during testing you've had the joy of roaming the whole 5x5km map.
As I've converted from turtle (HAV) to rabbit (LLAV), the new expanded bounds of ambush maps have given me a rather frustrating experience.
I want to roam free. I want to race people. I want Destruction. |

CCP needs to sort out the "New Eden Grand Prix"
24 races from planets spanning the cluster. 2 races per month.
This would be an AWESOME event. I could see teams really getting hyped up as raceday approaches.
And yes I mean ACTUAL races, with checkpoints and time extensions ect. A properly manufactured CCP event. |

I prefer the idea of moving targets trying to hit moving targets. Unarmed spectators running crazy on the map, susceptible to out-of-control rollover deaths or stray turret fire sounds entertaining.

well, i do agree with the point that Dropship Races would also be very fun, but for LAV races, you could have a main dropship, and that is what is recording, along with two guys in gunners seats, all of them record so you get a sky view along with normal views.
Yes there needs to be turrets, and the occasional missile/weak railgun tank. My friend and i have had 1v1 races across maps, it isn't fun without those turrets beating down your shields getting perilously close to ruining your armor.
I would say that everyone would have to be in a vehicle in order for this gamemode to work, otherwise you would get those snipers carrying av nades waiting to blow up a little LAV in one hit.

sounds fun and HAV races would be fun (just make sure the large turrets are disabled or it will turn into a brawl at the start). Afterburner, Jovian Overdrives etc. the racing would be awesome....  I'm just thought of something.....
I'm going to make 2 corporations which holds one district each (on the same planet of course) which races are held on. |

As long as they enable passengers to shoot handheld weapons as well, and fix the bug where Mobile CRUs don't function when equipped on LAVs. |
