When does it come out in theaters?

There will be in game transactions, but I can't see them charging $60 + a sub. That's doomed to fail.

They'd just give you the first couple of months with the purchase, then sub based after.

Why can't you play both?

I mean fundamentally, DUST is set in a dynamic universe based on other players and Destiny will be story based. I personally like both and as a gamer, I find it stupid to limit yourself to a game based on loyalty to XYZ other game that has slight similarities, I just play games which I enjoy. It's why I've got a PC, PS3 and 360 all set up together.

Although I'll never buy an Xbox One, because like I said, I'm a gamer.

I don't know where some of you get your info from. I've never seen anything from Bungie stating that this will be anything other than a multiplatform open world MMO. They are just happy to finally get to show off the PS4 footage now that the console has been revealed. I've also not seen any indication from Bungie that this will be a F2P model, or a subscription based MMO. This will be a $60 disc purchase with 10+ years of updates (like CCP) as promised.

If anyone has legit sources, and not some homer's blog, post em up, cus I've yet to read anything from bungie.net stating otherwise.

The Xbox 1 is more like a home entertainment hub than a game console. Also, why would I want an always-connected device with an always-live microphone/camera in my house?! It's not like Microsoft has the best track record for developing secure platforms.

Not to mention you buy a used game, but then to enable it on your console you have to pay the price of the game again. Xbox decided that games are only valid for one console, unless you pay them the cost of the game after buying a used one.

Although for me the biggest point is the PS4 outperforming it hardware wise and emphasizing that it's a high-end gaming console that has home media options on the side rather than the Xbox being a media console that has gaming options. I think losing Bungie exclusives like Halo made them scared and they had to rethink what they were doing.
Destiny is a MASSIVE undertaking with 6 years of development already and a 10 year content+expansion contract signed before it's even out of the gate, and it being a multiplatform game probably scares Microsoft.

When does it come out in theaters?

Games are tied to LiveIDs not the console itself. And no it will not have to be online all the time any more than the PS3 needs to connected all the time (unless of course you're playing and online game). Overall though, I don't trust companies that make you dig through marketing bullshit to get to the meat of what they're selling.
