With two Enhanced Armor Plates equipped, both at -5% speed, I end up with more speed than if I used one Complex Plate at -10% speed. The two lower ones give more total HP for less PG and you can move faster. I don't think the run reductions should stack up to less than 10% reduction. Complex should get more armor if this stacking oddity is intended.
Otherwise it is far better to run two enhanced than it is to run two complex. Complex should offer an advantage over the lower plates. Right now the armor difference is not enough to compensate for the speed difference. |

I agree but then again plates are prac useless IMHO your way better off with repair |

It's not an oddity, it's just basic math.
.95*.95=.9025, which is slightly better than .90 (the 10% reduction)
The advantage of the Complex plates is that it takes only one slot, compared to two for the enhanced. |

That is the stacking penalty math. I don't think there should be a stacking bonus inherent in this setup.
Ya, I know that complex only takes up one slot, and that is an advantage. But one would think that the higher skill point skills should reduce some of the negative effects while adding more armor. Currently Complex doesn't even come close to being 1.5 times more armor than the Enhanced, yet it has double the negative effect. Yet it sill has a fitting cost that is double that of the Enhanced plates. Double the Negative, Double the Fitting Cost, but less than 1.5 the armor doesn't seem right to me. |

It's got nothing to do with a stacking penalty, or a bonus, or anything. Like Buster said, it's basic arithmetic.
100 * 0.95 * 0.95 = 90.25 (100% base speed - 5% - 5% => 90.25% of base speed)
100 * 0.90 = 90 (100% of base speed - 10% => 90% of base speed)
I really don't think it has double the speed penalty, but I'd have to log in and look, and, of course, now that we can't do Corp vs. Allied Corp battles anymore, testing crap like this out is slightly riskier. If the speed difference between otherwise identical suits, one with Complex Armor Plate and one with two Enhanced, were to prove to be greater than 1%, well, then there's a problem.
You're right about the fitting cost, but, hey, them's the breaks. You should see what they did to the CPU/PG on my proto flux repper! o.O
