To join a friend you must
1. Create a squad
2. Invite friend to squad
3. Kill people with friend.
Eve side player obs are inly possible in fw and pc. |

There's an option to "create squad" in the chat menu. You can then invite friends to this squad.
In order to call for an orbital bombardment, first you must be in either planetary conquest or factional warfare. The first requires a corp, the second requires just you. Secondly, you need the pilot to be in orbit over the correct planet. Sadly, I've never messed around with it, so can't help past that. |

No, sorry, should have explained that better.
There are three different game types (different to modes) that you can play in. The first is instant battles, being self-explanatory. These have no impact on New Eden, and are just for fun. The second is Factional Warfare, on the mercenary tab on the battle finder. The third is planetary conquest.
Ambush, AOMS, Skirmish and Domination can be played in both instants and FW. In Planetary conquest, all you can do is skirmish, afaik. |

FW is under the mercenary tap, and PC would be under the corp tap in your instant battle.
