I used to enjoy using the shotgun, but after the uprising update aiming was one of the worst in a fps. Before the update aiming was swift and easy to control, but now it a lucky shot for me. it should take a whole a clip to finally hit someone. And i know that I'm not the only person who have a problem with this. People that i knew who use the shotgun don't even use it anymore because they say that it hard to aim and that they rather go AR than the shotgun could at least they can get a hit

if you have a thought about this write it, because CCP need to do something.

Well a few shotgunners have switched to nova knifes probably, but i see people still getting kills with it but im not a major shotgun user so....

I have gotten kills with it sometimes, but it may have to do with Lag i guess.

I get huge framerate drops in CQC, which results in several cases where I've emptied an entire magazine at the back of a fleeing opponent unaware of my presence, and not killing him. I'm not that bad a player :P

 Yes.

Shotgun aiming is terrible now, couple that with the fact that TAC ARs can kill Scouts in about 2 shots and you'll have major problems in CQC.

Yes, shotguns are horrible to use in maps with even the slightest open ground, you will be Tac AR'd into the dirt everytime you stand up.

Close maps, indoors etc, they are still effective on a good day, when you can get in close. The big problem is as you point out that the shotgun seems incredibly hard to hit anything with. Point blank seems to be the only thing guaranteed to hit.

I can take multiple shots at someone 4-5m away and not have even a scratch appear on the shields, then an hour later in a similar situation its a one shot kill.

 Go figure.

Of course, regardless there is almost no situation where a TAC isn't more effective, indoors our out, at any range. But i'm a sucker for punishment and refuse to join all the FOTM kiddies.

Funny, why are 2/3 of the most severely nerfed weapons tied to rumors of CCP devs having a personal stake in the nerfing? First Remnant with the MD and Cmdr Wang with the SG.

Before uprising I could easily go 5-10KD with shotguns.
Now I have to earn every single kill

I seem to be doing better with them now with the patch to Mouse sensitivity, and yes if you're not using the Mouse while running a Shotgun you're doing it wrong.

First match went 5/2 only joined halfway through, second, joined a little late and went 9/2.

This was with the MLT Shotgun, and I was playing on US servers (I'm EU) against TAC users.

Maybe I'm just lucky today, or they've actually fixed them.

One reason shotgun hit detection appear to be so bad is it wont do any damage past 4 meters. Probably the dumbest thing i have ever seen in a game. my shot gun in real life will mess you up easy to about 20 meters. You have to remember this is the future obviously they havent made any advancements.

Plasma cannon. It's a little unorthodox, but it fills the exact niche that the shotgun should be serving.

Extremely slippery aiming, look a little left cause your opponent is strafing and your looking behind you... I'm starting to get used to it though which must mean CCP is going to fix it and i'll have to figure it out again

The aiming isn't smooth. The response is clunky and by the time I alter the reticle the opponent has already moved and I have to keep making tiny adjustment that are implemented too late unless I get a lucky shot. I've found it's best to just keep the reticle in the center of the screen and strafe left or right. Also most Dust 514 players move to the left and right when in close range so I just keep the shotgun in a fixed position and hope they walk into my reticle. Works 7/10 times but it would be better if the aim was better so I could just track my targets naturally.

Both Annie and I have seen a sharp decline in the shotgun users numbers, the weapon has been subdued but not Tamed. If you get creative like Exmaple Core, or Stellios the shot gun scout can still be an effective murder machine. The aiming is indeed harder to manage but, if you get the timing right, that sweet muffled pillow sound is the last thing your Tac AR using enemy will hear. For open ground I can say nothing more than spec into biotics and slap on some Red Stims, if your gun doesn't have the range, then close the gap and side strafe the hell out of your target. Just because the weapon is harder to aim and shorter on range that a paper clip, doesnt mean you can't adapt your suit to compensate for the change. If you really like the shotgun then in this build it means you have to truly spec into making it your strength.

I been doing a little better with shotgun since i got a new suit, increase it damage, add both an enhance damper and kinetic biotic. But i'm better off not moving the cursor and letting the person walk in the middle.

After much heartache and SP spent on shotgun fittings, I spec'd into TARs. That got boring after about 10 matches.
Haven't been on in weeks since and won't be until CCP can get it together.

There is "adapt or die" and then there is "are you f****** serious?".
