So, I checked up on my Dust character today after not touching it for quite some time, and to my satisfaction, he's been accruing SP ever since.
I'd like some suggestions as to what skills would be good investments to put points into. I have no idea how I'd like to play currently, so I'm open to anything. Would the core dropsuit skills be a good idea? |

If you do not know what role you want to play/fulfill yet,I would HIGHLY recommend not spending a single sp yet.Make several suits with militia gear, use every piece of it and experiment until you are very sure what you want to do.
My friendly advice- The multi-talented Logi! But seriously test everything out first. |

Thanks for the insight.
Until I know, though, do you think it's a good bet to spend some points in general dropsuit skills? |

If you don't what you want to specialize in a safe bet for SP spending is your core skills. I'm mostly talking about skills that will increase your raw shield and armor numbers or increase your CPU or PG output. Assuming you want to focus on a dropsuit, these skills will serve you well no matter what specialization you choose. Apart from that I would follow NoxiousMentos's suggestion and try out some militia gear first. |

Just don't take the armor/shield skills up too high.Depending on what you decide to do,it may not be worth the huge investment right now.Say you do go Logi,25% more shield isn't much when your base is potentially 90 (I think base is 150 for some?).Certainly not worth hundreds of thousands of SP. |

There are Two schools of thought on Hp Tanking:
1) Shield Tanking - Costs a lot of SP to get the best shield extended module as well as a lot of CPU/PG to fit into your dropsuit. The great part of it is that it recharges on its own without a need of further skills or modules.
2) Armor Tanking - Costs less SP than shield tanking. Has less CPU and PG cost but has a speed penalty affecting your movement speed and sprint speed. Additionally, you need Armor Repairers to gain your armor hp back
The less used type is Speed tanking (not many do it so its not really a school lol) - You sacrifice some HP to be able to sprint away when needed. You spend SP on Biotics namely Kinetic Catalyzers which increases your Sprint speed. Drawback is CPU/PG cost (low slot) and it only affects your Sprint and not regular movement.
You can of course focus on one , two or even all three if you want. Depends on your playstyle.
Next thing to decide is which dropsuit and class fits your style. There's really a lot of info on that which you need to meticulously read and plan well. I suggest using a skill calculator to plan your spending. Theres a lot out there and I actually made one myself which you can see HERE.
Your choice of dropsuit may also depend on the type of weapon you are using so look at them as well.
Biggest tip is READ the descriptions. |
