Well i WAS ready to fork out however much money Microsoft charges for Xbox one (pre ordered ps4 too), until I watched the live reveal.
....................disappointed is all I can say. They've focused on live tv and NFL before the primary selling point of a console...GAMES. (Who the hell wants NFL on their CONSOLE!?, that's what cable is for)
Oh it looks great! Simple, sleek. But the thing that's killed it for me is the fact that although it DOES play used games......you have to pay a fee to transfer the license to your console, and rumor has it.....the fee is the retail price of the game, which defeats the purpose of used Xbox one games period. Not everyone can afford to buy brand new games (especially those in college, parents, low income etc). Even I can't afford brand new games all the time (maybe a couple per year) which is why i (and millions of others) wait until either the price has gone down or a certain game is available used.
Then there's GameStop (bad news for those guys), redbox (also bad news for them), gamefly (bad bad bad news), and every other used game/rental company.
Sony have stated that ps4 is all about games, games games games. And unless Microsoft fixes this used game fee crap by means of a system update (if at all possible)....my ps4 is going to have the space under my tv all to itself. |

I would say that the PS4 will play used games but they will have to be activated by a code similar to the new Xbox. Sony already does this with online content and I would say it would continue with the PS4. |
