I started when it went open beta and was told on the forums that we would have access to all of the map we could see (you were able to zoom way out on the map overview). I'm a dropship pilot and would love to have more room to play with, and I want my corp to need me in order to get from point to point. Are these bigger maps ever coming? If so, when? |

I would definitely love some bigger maps. I don't think it would really take too much to have it work. Take all of the spawn points that there currently are along with common building structures that you guys (CCP) place around them, and spread them out more. make all of those nice paved road that we always see outside of the map useful.
I am an LAV driver, and I really don't get used much because all the points are within running distance.
Speaking of which, why the hell do we have dirt roads inside and between the building compounds (The map as we know it as a whole, not just a city structure) where paved roads would make the most sense and paved roads where they are useless and dirt roads would be fine?
This has always bothered me and it makes an already tricky LAV a bit harder to drive as it barrel rolls and backflips from an anthill.

Amen to bigger maps, just as long as said maps aren't all bare. Let's see some jungles cave systems and forests :D |

You want to keep a certain population density (x players per y square meters) because the game will get boring if you can run and run and never see a red. The good news is that doubling the map won't necessarily require doubling the players because objectives keep the players confined to specific areas. Either way, we'd still need more like 32 players per side to keep player density up as objectives wouldn't be bunched up any more. |

Don't forget the eventual inclusion of faster moving aircraft, that's going to need bigger maps by necessity otherwise pilots will be running afoul of redlining all the time. |

It will be a long while before that happens. Right now, CCP is needing to address bigger concerns. But the overall reason we have such a limited selection, from what some of remember during closed beta, is that these select few maps are helping CCP determine a stable system in which numerous map variations will be generated. But that is part of the roadmap and therefore I suspect we will only see it coming next year. |

I think when ccp adds the faster vehicles like hover bikes and fighters they will definitely extend maps as it will be practicly required without it crossing the map in seconds |

Just bigger fights in general. The player count just barely works as is, but the maps also could use a boost. double the map siz, give us something like 80(+-) people, and I'll be happy and not complain for 10 secs. |
