How would I get a precision strike, is it a killstreak? Or can I call one of my Gallente friends on PC to drop an orbital strike?
Also, I seem to be earning SP very slowly. Any tips on how do speed up the rate?

More WP = More SP. Certain boosters increase the amount of SP you get at the end of the game, others increase your passive SP accrual rate.
In order to call in a precision strike, you need to be squadleader and get something like 2450WP. Not sure about PC but it is possible. |

In a pub match you earn an orbital by getting 2500 WP, this could be by yourself or with a squad. To call it in all you have to do is right on the D-pad and select off-map support. For corp battles you do need an EVE pilot linked to the battle that you in.
To earn more SP all you need to do is buy a booster for aurum. |

Getting 2,500 War Points as a Squad gives the Squad Leader the opportunity to lay down an Orbital Strike.
Getting more SP? There are a few ways:
1. Boosters. Easiest and fastest way to get more Skill Points. 2. Play in a Squad. The formula is basically 1 WP = 1 SP. Being in a Squad and the Squad leader giving Defend orders will earn you 20% more WP if you do a task that gives WP with the radius of the defend order. IE, Kills give 60, Assists give 30, etc. 3. Play longer matches. The formula also includes 1 Second of game time = 5 SP. Longer games mean more Skill Points. 4. Improve on your role. Being better at the game means more War Points which means more Skill Points. Improvement is always helpful. 5. Just play the game and have fun! Honestly, time will seem less of a factor if you just enjoy the game.
Be well. |

Strikes are kinda like squad kill streaks. First you have to join a squad (duh), then once your squad has accumulated 2500 wp total (by doing anything, not just kills) the squad leader can call down an orbital strike.
EVE orbitals work in the same way, but you have to either be in a Faction Warfare battle, or Planetary Conquest battle - also the EVE player delivering the strike either has to be in your factions militia (FW) of your corp / alliance (PC).
As for speeding up SP gain, make sure you have passive SP applied to that character (you can see whether or not is it on the character selection screen), and asides from that it's basically down to how well you do in your battles - active SP earned in battles is based on how long you were actually in the battle (5 SP per second) and how much WP you earned (1 SP per WP).
You can also buy boosters which either give you 1.5 times faster passive or active SP gain, depending on which you buy. |

Just press up on the D-pad to see the leaderboard for the match. Your name will be highlighted and to the right of your name will be your kills and WP. If you are in a squad with people who are on your contacts list they will be highlighted as well, so you just need to do some quick math to figure out how close you are to an orbital. Or you can see the squad WP during the respawn screen on the bottom left. |

Thanks! Now, how do I join a squad?
And, this is irrelevant, but how do I change my avatar ( If I can) and the tag under my name?

It shows you on the big score screen at the end of a battle.
Now it is still there you just have to tab over to the screen far right when you load up the stats for the end of match summary. You will see the little L2 / R2 icons at the top to scroll with. |

You can create a squad and invite people to it by clicking on 'Squad' in the chat panel (select button) or people can invite you to theirs which you'll get a 'Notification' in the top of the same chat panel.
You can't change your avatar, I think it's still selectable when you create your character, but can't be changed after.
The 'tag' is the name of your corporation ... you start off in an NPC (non player character) corp ... you can join a player owned corp if you want ... Red Fox Brigade is recruiting by the way ;-) ... we're friendly and helpful ... join 'RFB recruitment' chat channel from the chat panel ... click the plus at the bottom and search for it. |

To join a squad you need to be invited by somebody in the squad, or you can just make your own. To make a squad jut open up the chat menu with the select button and go to the squad tab. Press X on the squad tab and a menu will pop up with the option to create a squad. If you are invited to a squad the notifications tab on the chat menu will light up and you will see the squad invitation there.
Unfortunately you can't change your avatar as far as I know. To change the tag under your name you will need to join a corp. New players are put into what are called NPC corps when they begin playing. They really have no purpose other to indicate that you are a new player and haven't joined a player run corp yet. If you want to find a corp you can post in the recruitment section of the forums, just make a thread stating that you are looking for a corp but also mention what kind of play style you have, assault, logi, heavy, etc. Also if you have a mic say so! Corps always prefer to have players with mics. |
