Demand for districts is at its peak right now.
Every corp wants one and there are not enough to go around
If your corp is struggling in PC you may just want to wait 6 months for the district number to increase exponentially.
Why fight for the first fruits off the tree? plenty more are coming. With current player counts falling every week if you really want one and your spending lots of ISK now and getting few returns, you might be better off just taking this time to train your corp and prepare for the next build or for interest to wane then swoop in on a corp that has become soft and weak due to internal strife.
By the time next build hits we will be lucky to see about 1000-2000 active players IF that. So dont burn your cash now! Save it and train for a time to strike!
As the game loses numbers as well you will see CCP do more sales and promoting to keep people coming back! so play the waiting game. |

Pessimistic are we? I'd rather believe in the game. A lot more fun that way. |

You, sir, suck. Maybe... live outside of the game? Have fun? Leave? |

I thought the numbers was actually climbing though? Seen over 9k on a few days ago and with the drought of summer game releases shouldn't we see the numbers increase more? |

The people that spend money on dust 514 in its current state are either devoted zombie fans of ccp or people with cash to burn, either way, they won't stop playing nor wait. |

Nahhh... hes right, numbers are already dropping, no by much, but enough to be a worrying sign...Player retention in this game still is, very, very bad ...But i guess fixing Metagaming, and AWOXing, is allot more important right now.... |

It will drop at each build, but at the same time each itteration will let us keep the Hardcore fans of the genre.
Just like how Eve works, Eve has the best retention of players of any MMO game made in the last 10 years, sure its a niche game and Dust is a niche game aswell.
Protoman has had a thread up a week or so ago about how player count was falling!!!! GASP DOOMSDAY INC
Even War Z has enough people playing to keep it running and thats a tripple D- game
the only games that ive seen bleed players are the ones where you play in a themepark carrousel, after the ride is done (max lvl) there is nothing to do anymore, where in DUST i still get to shoot other people in tace while i fistpump each time.
Finally: I dont want DUST to retain all the whiners, they can look for greener pastures on the other side of the fence...
