Doesn't make sense that even though a team has no ship orbiting the planet, they can call in an OB through a cloaked Warbarage. The suggestion if implemented, would further help cement the EvE-DUST connection. That or make Warbarages destroyable.
Now, space superiority will be required more than ever before. |

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ !!!!!!!!!!!!! +1 BRO + MOTHER FING 1 !!!!!!!
Im so with you on this. I really want to see the her about teh big battles going on up in eve while the pc battles rage down on the earth. I really expected to look up and see a ton of red and blue triangles float around in space knowing they where battling eachother to help us mercs down on the ground. PC has just done NOTHING of all this. Instead we-¦ve gotten batles where FF is turned on and where it-¦s alliances against alliances.
What CCP happened to the awesoume eve -dust link we where promised ??? "But i PC requires eve ships to give the orbitals then all the minor corps will have a very hard time" no !!! It-¦ll be much more balanced !! Suddenly people like CRONOS can-¦t just expect that because they got superior ground control they-¦ll win this match. The enemies might be weak on the ground but if they got a major eve control they-¦l have a major advantage !!. This means eve corporations will have a much bigger deal of going of starting a merc based side of their corp. And come on isn-¦t this what we all want ?? Giant spaceships fighting overhead all because they want to give us alittle tiny orbital strike down on ground |

Make EvE matter more than just 'hee-hee, I just used a more powerful version of the northern lights' and more into ' Woohoo!, Now that we've got space superiority, beating the enemy who've got 3-4 objectives but no way to get the last objective without an OB has just gotten way easier' CCP!! |

I agree that having the warbarge bombardment diminishes the value of the link with eve. But one of the core concepts CCP stated when they announced Dust 514 is that while the two games will be linked, neither game will rely on the other. If Eve fails Dust can still continue, if Dust fails then Eve can still continue.
Making full use of the link between Dust 514 and Eve should be advantageous, but it must not be compulsory. This may change in the future depending on the respective future success of both Dust and Eve, but for now they must both be able to stand independently. |

PC should follow similar rules to the tourney build at fanfest, but without warbarge orbitals. If a team's ship can maintain orbit over the district for a set amount of time, that team should have access to an orbital at will. WP can be used to place instillations. (whenever we get them) |

^exactly I also read that statement from CCP and i get the idea. They don't want to put all their eggs in one bowl yet and i can understand this. But IF !! you have eve support you should get an advantage (hope we all agree on this). This can either be done by as stated turning Warbarge OBs off putting a lot more pressure on the EVE side and also a lot more fun into the game and thrills of the orbitals. On the other hand EVE OBs can also cost a lot less WPs than a Warbarge OB and that way give corps who have EVE support an advantage but yet not rendering the other team totally without any kind of OB support
I'm most in favour of totally taking away the Warbarge OBs in PC making the EVE - Dust link a lot better bt yet still having the two games able to exist on their own without the others help as the OBs are just a fancy killstreak advantage |

-1 I do have pretty much constant Eve support yet I'd rather not make it necessary. Maybe lower the radius of warbarge strikes to make them actually precision based, so it would be viable to use it in place of another strike even with eve support. |

Wasn't the Warbarge a ship anyway? It makes sense to give people a free way to get orbitals, even if it's weaker. It's a good way to not screw over people who maybe aren't as interested in messing with the Eve side of things, while giving them a taste of what they could have if they did. |

No please. All you are going to be doing is screwing Dust players.
EVE players don't want to participate in OB.
Forcing us to need EVE players is like saying Gas stations are not allowed to have self fillup and only the lazy drunk guy behind the counter who gets minimum wage is allowed to unlock the pump and pump your gas. |

Because dust players shouldn't have to depend on Eve players for what can often be a deciding factor. That is exactly the ponit I want to make. Currently, EvE ships really aren't needed in PC. There MUST be a way to limit the enemy's ability to call in OBs. Like I typed in the OP, Warbarges can also be made destroyable, unlike now, where they're invincible.
I don't really want to bring in RL examples, but throughout history , it has been pretty much proven that artillery support and the like are pretty much crucial to achieve a military victory. Vehicular support can be cut off by destroying RDVs, so why not off-map support? |

I completely agree. I would also suggest removing them from FW matches when they actually matter (lol FW).
Having OBs so freely available cheapens them - bringing in an EvE ship and calling in a strike would be vastly more awe-inspiring if we didn't have free OBs available all the time. It would really make the EvE/Dust link much more noticeable and important.
When warbarges are done properly, having them be destructible, but tough, would spark conflicts in space above the districts, which would be a lot more impressive than what we currently have, which is the odd gank of a lone dessie sitting in orbit. |

You are incorrect. EVE players are very much interested in OB, both performing them and especially interrupting them.
I find it strange that a member of the alliance with the strongest space superiority in Molden Heath would be against this. There simply is no alliance in DUST that can outnumber ROFL in space during the ROFL prime timezone. |

Why this wasn't implemented, I'll never know. CCP prides this game on the EVE Online connection, but the truth is, there is no EVE connection. FW is nothing but a pub match that benefits random EVE pilots you don't care about and PC is a giant slap in the face of anyone that actually went through the trouble of getting UVTs in the past to stay in contact with EVE pilots and form an alliance. One universe, one war, two non intersecting games. |
