Getting one shotted by a sniper is getting old. These guys sitting in the red line (another arguement all together) taking pot shots is such a BS tactic. Make it a % of the suit they hit so two shots are required to down an enemy. 3 shots for the tactical. The only one hit kill should be a head shot. I cant complain about a skilled head shot but running a scout suit is even less viable if I get dropped in one hit. If I don't take cover after the first hit I deserve to die.
Perhaps it would take three body shots to drop a heavy and 4 with a tactical. Opinions? |

After you get sniped find out where they are and approach with nova knives or remote explosions.
Last time I was killed with a sniper I tracked him down and placed 3 remote explosives around him. It was very satisfying to say the least.
When trying to avoid sniper fire, a good tactic that I often use is to run and then stop for a moment and resume running. I do this till I find cover. If you keep running at the same pace they will lead you, this prevents that somewhat as the sniper compensates when you stop. |

I'm getting dropped running at full speed. Snipers could get good and start aiming for the head. You already have absolutely no scope sway when crouched. Could we make it easier for these redliners. |

I also love hunting them down, but I'm argueing the redline mechanic also. I have seen/heard of possibly not giving WP for getting kills and such if you are in the red zone. That would mean zero sniping tanks and make it easier to hunt those snipers. A SR can shoot 3/4 of the map, tough to hunt them down that far into the redline. |

dont run in straight lines. stack more armor/ shields. they kill you once find them and kill them. Don't stand in middle of no where. If you have the objective hate to break it to you but your winning. If he won't come take objective thats his problem. If they have objective... well get on that.
And hits are a % because X/suit hp is a %. and as a heavy you should take more shots, otherwise you are doing it wrong.

Have you tried being a sniper?
Some very good folks can take you out while you jitter at long distance... I can't get the controller to let me do that.
No, I have to get close enough to get a better target -- meaning I'm likely to get spotted and taken out by a high end AR. You might also want to check out the kill page and see if you can spot snipers near the top very often. |

They are very rarely near the top and most are red lining. I would consider 5% of all snipers truely skilled. Anyone can get as good as the ones I'm whining about if you spend a day atop a hill and practicing. |

That's an interesting idea. Would it only be kills FROM the red zone, or also kills TO the red zone? You'd have to institute some sort of mechanic so players know when they're leaving their protected zone. |

If you stop awarding points FROM the redline than you also have to stop awarding point INTO the redline. If your team gets redlined by a team who knows what they're doing then why bother trying to get out? If its only from the redline then once you get redlined your screwed. Sometimes to make a break for it you need an OB to create a hole through a well organized team. If there's no WP earned from the redline than thats not going to happen...
There's better posts about this very issue which has more intelligent people posting than I. I'll see if I can dig them up and post a link, but it's a bit of a pain to do it from a phone... |
