Hi there,
As the subject states, i would like to suggest that players be able to keep the Skill Points (SP) that they earn on their extra characters, should they no longer wish to continue with (terminate) a character. the way i see this is there should be an option, on confirmation of termination of the character, that asks if you wish to 'keep' the SP earned, and giving a selection screen with your other active characters should you wish to transfer said SP.
Now i recognise that this could be a potential gateway to abuse by just starting a new character, transferring the SP, deleting character, rinse, repeat. I am NOT, however, suggesting that all of the SP be transferable. All i am suggesting is that all extra SP earned over the life of the character (both Active and Passive), in excess of the base SP given on creation of the character, be transferable. this should be fairly easy to manage as CCP knows how much SP is the base amount, thus i wouldn't think this would be too technical a problem.
in an ideal world this SP would then be free to map to areas of need for the character that it is transferred to. however i would be open to debate on this. maybe it can be transferred in its allocated form, and the receiving character automatically gets those skills (if they haven't already learned them), thus leaving only unmapped SP that is free to be trained.
i suggest this as i currently have 3 characters, however since the Uprising reset i have only used one (my main) character. the other two are not really much use to me as they don't have enough SP for me to make them effective on the battlefield. i did however invest some time in them before Uprising, and the SP earned could aid in my main character's development.
i doubt that i am the only one out there with this issue, should you agree/disagree feel free to comment. any constructive criticism is welcome. i just think that allowing this would allow better flexibility by the users, and would not penalize them too much should they no longer wish to continue with a character that they started with the best of intentions. More opportunities to not waste SP = a better playing experience for the user, and a better game overall, IMHO.

Bad idea, this will mean that people will have 3 characters, grind to the weekly cap with all of them, meaning getting triple SP which they will then transfer to their main character. |

admittedly, i didn't think of that.
one way to mitigate that could be to limit the number of transfers per account, similar to how CCP is handling the 'respec' currently.
but (devil's advocate hat on here), what is the problem with some1 grinding and getting the cap? it's not like they don't deserve the SP, they earned it after all. i know that these characters will be uber-powerful, but that would still be the case across 3 characters, rather than one (as i'd assume these people would still grind regardless). |

I have an alt I made and is just sitting collecting passive SP. I am sure more dedicated people could/would create 5-6 alts and wait a month, transfer SP to their main. |

Nevermind. I am thinking of transfering SP accross multiple accounts. |
