Beat me to it. Make sure to read EVE GD on the next patch day (during for all of those that forgo to queue a long skill for the inevitable missed expected down time) and then after (the ones who did not train Destroyers V and BC V beforehand). |

All console FPS gamers love the idea of this game but yet they still miss the most important part of an FPS. Controls and competitiveness, are the two most important parts to a successful fps. Graphics can be terrible, game modes can be limited (as long as it is competitive), and the game content can be small but it has to be, you can see where I'm going. Hopefully

No they are not. Gamers are gamers, and some people are just fanboys of particular gaming systems. PC, or any console, who cares. Just play games.
I have been with PC players for years now and know there is no difference. Just different target markets for different types of games. |

if you roll both platforms you'll see this to be true.
ez mode games on PC = "wahhhhhhhh this is too hard for console"
hard games for PC = "don't bother porting it to console, there will only be like 15 people on the ps3 who can play it"
you may be pulling folks from the same market sector... but in no way at all are they the same.
console players are less capable then pc players. sorry. just true.
case in point:
you guys think the skill tree is confusing, the ranges on the ar are too far and that the grind is too much.

Your reasoning is rather flawed. PC gamers and console games typically have different experiences and expectation for their games. I've rolled on both platforms and both complain about stupid things, but usually critique a game based on their expectations for their gaming experience and their platforms strengths and weaknesses. The stupid stuff typicallly comes with 'this game is too hard... meaning, I keep dying and want to power-game.'
PC and console gaming is just different. For instance, consoles give you less control customization, which then places a lot of the responsibility on the developer to make a slick and concise control system. This is a reason it is difficult to have any RTS on a console and most have failed. Furthermore, you are blurring the distinction between and FPS and an MMO. Grinding is a purely MMO term and has historically nothing to do with FPS shooters, which have more recently based their unlocks (not skills) based on use and not some type of exp system. This is the first FPS to attempt an exp system and a skill tree, which would mean that we should expect a bit of an adjustment from both the game and developer. Simply put, this FPS/MMO tries to combine the two and breaks with the expectation of an FPS in favor of some aspects of the MMO genre that FPS gamers are not use to nor accustomed to. FPS gamers typically expect a fast pace game where crazy things can happen, one only needs a few friends to have some fun, and the only goal is victory or some awesome trick. MMOs gamers are accustomed to grinding and huge differences between players that put a lot of time into the game and there is a need to cooperate with their guilds/corporations to accomplish large tasks. Maybe this analogy works for you, it is like Rugby or AmericanFootball vs DND. Both take a type of skill, but the expression is different.

That and the Developers generally don't give a flying **** what the community whines about, they come up with their own solutions. |

The player market point of view has nothing to do with the platform, but with the games you play. A CoD player on PC will have the same logic as CoD player on PS3, likewise for Battlefield.
I come from a Battlefield/RTS community, so I like Dust for its complexity and risk. |
