A spy infiltrates and gains the trust of various ppl before he burns down the house, also tend to sepnd sometime in the house learning various things and getting promoted into roles, at least how it works in EVE
A spy does not do this
1. Apply to target corp - its not even infiltration lol 2. Wait till a PC match comes up against your employers - so hard to do to be awol 3. Launch a full squad into the game as fast as possible so you can TK - so skilled lol
Its not skilled, its not even spying and its not even infiltration, its something that the average idiot can do easily and currently is doing now
What is happening is PC is not spying or infiltration, its metagame if that |

Its just scrubs thinking its smart and clever when anyone can do it which requires no skill to do in the 1st place
Spying is much more than the current scrub level that is happening in PC |

So this person joins. Earns trust to be in the corp match. Then he sabotages the match or you could say burns the house down.

Wrong
The person joins and then waits to spam x with his TK squad when a PC battle is about to take place
You dont need permission to join in a PC battle, anyone can launch a squad into it aslong as the squad leader is in the target corp

Wrong.
I don't know how it works in your corp but in my corp you have to be good and known on some level. Also we try fill the slots fast for that specific reason the team is ready before the match becomes join-able.

Once again wrong
You do not need permissions to join a PC game at all, it doesnt matter if you are good or **** the game just recognizes you from your corp that is it
You spam x to try to get into the battle and fastest finger 1st works best
Hell i could apply to your corp, get in and get a squad together to sabotage a district its so easy |

for those interested in a career as a spy:
get used to being a member of a corp, working with that corp to further their aims. You are not there to sabotage matches and get kicked from the corp, that is the job of the saboteur, as stated in a post above.
Spies gather intel.
That means accessing corp forums on a daily basis and handing your forum account id and password off to your controller. You'll also want to gain access to as many chat channels as possible. Rising in rank can be advantageous, however, acquiring an asset already in place is far more desirable... see below "burnable asset"
Documenting players who create friction and frictious relationships within the corporation. You may even encourage corp members to act out from behind the scenes, if that is within your brief. Finding players who can be turned is another good tactic, specifically if you can get a handler to take their case, thus saving yourself from an avenue of discovery, and creating a burnable asset should the corp start a spy hunt.
Mostly however, you'll sit your main or an alt into the corp, and just sit there gathering intel for your broker though.
In the end a good spy network operates it spies within isolation, and never gives them a clue as to what is being done with the intel gathered.
Because all spies... in the end ... can be double *gasp* agents ......
welcome to the shadowlands brave traveler, just remember, there is always a spy, and every spy is a double agent, and your broker will always disavow any knowledge of your actions, and you will get burnt.. even if its just to prove you weren't really the spy.......

Really, what is there to spy on here in Dust?
Am I missing something?
In EVE you could report where the miners where, tell where Fleet opps were headed. You could listen in on future plans and economic strategies.
None of that is in Dust. There is nothing to be gained that you couldn't learn just by looking at the attack map on the starmap.
The only thing a spy can do is... be a useless waste of a character slot in hopes maybe one day you can attain CEO and biomass the corp and steal all the $$.
If you want some spy stuff then check this thread

in the movie "Millers Crossing" it was done with style... class. it was dope.
here it's just about short bus riders who are so scared of losing that they will do anything they have to not actually have to fight.
that way they can't be blamed when they lose.
which... y'know... is inevitable.
