How expensive per suit(advanced and proto) How long does it take to get nova knives?(like sp wise) What build? What are nova knives classified as? Anything other important info that can be given?
A fully equipped advanced suit will cost 30-50k isk, depending on how you fit it.
Nova knives take similar SP to any other weapon - to get them to proto, it's 600k or so. Advanced is significantly less, something like 120k, and the basic spec is only 12k. If you're going to use nova knives though I recommend going up to the ZN-28 knives ASAP.
'What build' is an open question. It depends on your personal preferences. You could be mad and go knives only, but an SMG/knife combo on a minmatar scout seems to be quite good. If you go this route, stack shield mods for a shield tank, as this provides you some limited survivability without slowing you down, which is important. Consider using a damage module as well, so you can put people down quicker. Use the low slots for sprint and stamina modules, to capitalize on your high mobility. You can also add a profile dampener to help stay off enemy radar. For equipment, you could use an active scanner. This does reveal your location to the enemy for a moment, and notifies them that they've been scanned, but if you use a quantum scanner, which you can get at the advanced level, the enemy will remain on your radar longer than you appear on theirs. You don't have to use a quantum variant though - your superior mobility allows you to get away from where you appeared on the enemy radar, while the enemy is likely not as mobile. Carry locus grenades, as if you get behind a group you can cook the grenade for a couple of seconds and then lob it right into their midst. Follow up with knifework and SMG fire.
Nova knives are classified as a sidearm.
Important info? Well, you're made of paper. If you're getting hit, you are going to die. Take advantage of your low scan profile and high speed to sneak back around behind enemy lines. If you come up behind an enemy squad, knife them in the back and finish off survivors with the SMG. If they're engaged in a firefight, even if you go down you'll likely allow your team (if they're competent) to overwhelm the now weakened enemy line. If enemies are engaged in a firefight with your side, it's a golden oppurtunity to go around the back and take a couple of people out. Causing cascades like this is funny even when you go down, and when I've done this I've often found that I get triaged if there's a logibro nearby.
Remember that you are going to die a lot, and you simply can't take people in a straight fight. The scout suit shines at flanking enemies and disrupting their lines. |
