I have read threads saying that if your GÇ£littleGÇ¥ you can not make it in Planetary Conquest. Well part of this is true and part of this is not. If you want 1 district for yourself without owning a district already, it will cost you around 300 mill granted you may lose 1 battle in 3-4.
For those that donGÇÖt know, each battle you do (win/defeat) you must buy a new Clone pack for 80 mill to re-attack. If you win, you may make back 10-15 mill of that, but you will still be in the hole for a time. If you want to break in to PC you need to attack research facilityGÇÖs for these are the districts with the less amount of clones to ether have stored or produced and you need to find a weak enemy to go after.
The other thing here is the Gear your Corp can bust out. A lot of Vet Corps (including mine) have beta players running anywhere from 6-15 mill in SP. New corps that are out will have New players with only this weekend under their belt and with out any Vet support or CCP opening more planets or a Nooby sec of space to takeover, you may take 1-3 months to have SP to compete in Molden Heath.
Now this is just the starting guys and CCP does plan to open up more space soon, but for now I say save up and take a chance. There is a lot of districts that are not under attack ATM.
Good Luck

I was made to look like a villian in the other thread, but the fact of the matter is that PC is where the vets are. The amountof ISK and skill required is up there . Don't go in without understanding the challenges thatcome with it. Never said "don't try" simply said don't jump into PC first and be unprepared. |

I was extremely excited for PC. I also was hoping to participate in it.
But then Uprising hit and my car broke down.... I'll create another thread for details (but don't worry, it's not a tear-collecting-service-needed story nor is it personal details of life story either)....
Anyways, now that Uprising is out, I've been trying to follow the politics and the War scene but I've found it difficult. I just got back to my PS3 this weekend and trying to follow what's going on in the forums, many people are not being helpful and going full blown New Eden to attempt feed bad information to confuse their opponents and turn into caps lock messages of taunts and e-peens flaunting that's it's hard to filter out what is news worthy and what is simple minded warrior crys (one liners, youtube links, etc).
That's not to say I hate or dislike it; I think this is great to show people in the FPS community "Hey you know that battlefield your fighting on? What if you actually had to work for the ground your fighting on? Or better yet what if you lost it?" And I believe this will draw some hardcore FPS players over to give them a shot at glory (but yes I know, Dropships, broken aiming, Dropships, weird magentic grass and floors keeping you in place, Dropships, skill issues, did I mention Dropships?).
Anyways, back on track, it was hard to find objectivity in what was going on in PC based solely on the forums. Now that I've gotten back to my PS3 I could look at the Starmap and see....
But I've really just lost steam....
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get into a quick PC match and experience it first hand for myself, but as it stands right now, it's just not my thing. Sure I know I'll get flak for this but I'm more interested in PvE now (that's not to say I wasn't before either).
*sigh* In any case, the more I write, the more I want to add so I'll end it here. I have a feeling this post will be quoted a couple times and Negative-Feedback will have no problem with coming in and completely misinterpret what I wrote or call me a carebear for liking PvE.
But I'll link a post later to help people understand what's been going on these past couple of weeks.
EDIT: Didn't mean to de-rail either OP. +1 for that info. Thanks. |

Useful information here. The "little guys" should also look into joining established alliances or, more likely, joining one of the cooperatives that are made up of smaller corps as a method of force multiplication. |

You talking about 80 million ISK, like is the easiest thing to do... and 300 million.. ROFL. Not to mention, that new corps will need to have an Elite team of Proto gear members, to have half of a change to do anything in PC. Add to all that the need to have people available at any time, across all the time zones....Well... Planetary Conquest is a very exclusive thing right now, and is going to be for long time. |

To the little guys... claiming districs is easy and all you need is 80 million isk and an alt. Their are several corps that own systems that have fairly open recruitment practices. All you do is get your alt into one of those corps, then attack them. Then instead of fielding in a team que 5 of your guys into the opponents defense force. Then once in the game commit suicide over and over again until the clones on that district are depleted... the district is now yours. |

You are quite right about exclusivity. If you manage to save up the ISK, you really need to do your research about which corp/district to attack. Your best bet is to go for an alliance- less corp, on a planet not surrounded by battling alliances, in a district with a timer that suits the maximum number of your members possible. They DON'T have to be available all day everyday ( just one hour a day) and when your district becomes under attack, you'll get a minimum of 24 hours notice to gather your forces/ ringers. |

I can think of few corps that you could attack in the EU time zone, because they are US base, and most of their Elite Members are unavailable at that time... but that doesn't apply to the Mega Corporations, that have Elite Members in all the time zones. And also doesn't apply to Mega Alliances. |

80m = 400 pub matches, maximum, if you're playing militia gear. Probably more about 200 matches. Divide that by ten members, that's 20 matches each. Something at little over two or three hours gameplay. Barely anything.
If you divide by 40, which is approaching the number you actually want for PC, that's 10 matches each. An hour and a half, tops.
Don't need proto gear, just need over 5m SP. Standard gear does just as well in the right hands. |

The little guy should try to turn his lack of size into an advantage when under siege. For example, I offered to help DeltaForce get out of dodge if they yielded the territories to NF they admit are lost without further hostilities. I win by not having boring fights, they win by not being completely wiped off the map. Space is big, and no non-deluded corp has plans to own all of it.
In summary, befriend your enemy with Win-Win scenarios, instead of locking yourself into a position where no one is having fun but continue slogging through over monopoly money. |

That is "assuming" that you have a corp with 40 members, ( That are not Spy's ), that are prepare to donate ISK in regular basics.... you guys make everything sound soooooooooo easy. |

There's an easy counter to a spai. Talk to them first. Get to know them, investigate their claims, etc. And if they want to get involved in PC, they should be ready to dedicate more than an hour a day. Most mining corps, both in nullsec and highsec, demand a full weekend for mining ops. Some of those corps take all the ore, some of those corps take a percentage. Either way, all corp members in EVE are expected to give something back to the corp in return for the benefits being in a corp give.
If you can dedicate neither the time nor the isk for your corp, then you a, don't belong in PC, and b, don't belong in New Eden.
I was probably wrong with my 5m SP estimate, 3m is probably more accurate. |

My point exactly ...Is not way i could start a Corp right now, without contacting an Alliance 1st, and asking for their support with my new corp. Then i will have to spend "months" building my new members SP to an acceptable level, and recruiting 40 members for my corp that i can fully trust, then "maybe" i can start to think about PC battles...
Lets say you new to EvE and Dust, and you try to make a Corp like you will do in any other game... what are you chances of success ? 5% maybe 10%? |

5 mil is easy, and if you have less than 40 members then PC should be your long term goal. Start queing up full teams in faction warfare, and building up isk reserves while recruiting new members. |
