Okay,
I tried the new patch today, and, while I like the revamp of the skill system, theres one big problem: It costs an absurd amount of skill points to unlock any dropsuits.
Pre-patch I had access to level 3 logistics skill dropsuits, some assault 1, scout 1, and level 1 heavy dropsuits. Along with this I had access to a large number of weapons, including some level 3 assault rifles and sniper rifles, and submachine guns.
Today I log on and begin messing with the skill system, and it turns out I can only get access to TWO suits, and only level 1 scrambler rifle/assault/sniper rifles.
Why is there such a massive disparity in costs pre and post-patch? Am I doing something wrong? Meh.
While I like the new coloring and graphics, and the new scrambler rifle is pretty neat, I dont think Im going to be using my time to play this game if I have zero options and it takes over a million skill points just to unlock the basic drop suit types. |

Use the basic dropsuits (basic light, basic medium, basic heavy). You people make it sound like getting the specialized dropsuits (scout, assault, logistics, sentinel) are a necessity. If basic takes too much SP, use militia. |

there is no basic logistics so if a player wants to attempt to play they are forced to pay AUR for a militia suit or need 1.8m to even consider it no other militia/basic from can fill that role |

Remember when suits had two different fitting variations back in chrome? Logis had a slower, 3-4 equipment slot suit and a faster 2-3 slot suit. Uprising seemed to merge the two, giving them the best of both worlds, but at the cost of a basic frame logi suit. We need a suit line in the basic frame that's slower than logis, has 2-equipment slots at MLT level, 3-4 at basic depending on the suit's race. Since the logi name is already taken, just call it an artificer. Or better yet, just do away with the basic suits because they're redundant and pointless. Go back to Assault, Scout, Logi and Heavy. But keep the racial bonus skill that actually applies to the suit class. When other suits get added, they can use the racial skill as a prerequisite, just like how some proto weapons need points in proficiency. Adding to that, we could get faction suits with specific specializing bonuses added in that go off of either the frame suit level or racial bonus level like heavies that have damage resist bonuses, scouts that reduce armor movement penalties, logis that add bonuses to splash damage and medium slot supply, or assaults with damage bonuses to light weapons. |
