Last build I ran exclusively assault AV but decided against it this build after hearing the news of tanks being rubbish (I'm a little regretting it since they got re-buffed a little).
So this build I decided to go speed hacking instead. My initial thoughts were scout suit with complex hacking mods. Up until today I've been doing this pretty successfully - a null cannon takes about 4 seconds to hack and I can get in and out pretty fast. I've been running std gallente scouts because minmatar doesn't have the CPU/PG.
I also decided not to bother going up to proto scout (yet) because they cost so much and I'm still really vulnerable in a scout. And the adv gallente is pretty pointless as a hacking suit because it's got just as many lows (for hacking mods) as the std (this doesn't make much sense because it also has more highs than the proto!).
So my set up is:
STD Gallente Light
MLT Scrambler Pistol
MLT SMG
MLT Locus Grenade
MLT Shield Extender
MLT Armor Repair
Complex Codebreaker (hacking mod)
With the skill buff and hacking mod I hack twice as fast.
But I have today looked at perhaps running a medium suit instead. I'd be sacrificing roughly 0.5m/s in sprint speed and some scan profile but I get a lot more CPU/PG. The extra slot allows me to have a MLT armor plate and by next week I'll have the next level of engineering so will be able to put on an extra MLT armor repair but I don't think I'll be able to put on another Complex Codebreaker. I think I can do it if I get up to ADV medium but that'll be a week or so yet.
I've yet to actually test my medium hacking suit, so don't know quite how it's going to work out. Both set ups only cost me around 12k isk a suit.
Does anybody else running hacking fits? Any opinions or insights? Scout or Assault?
- For the record I do know that the Mini Logi gets a hacking bonus but I'm a long way from the millions of SP needed to get there and I like my pistol/SMG set up too much to give one of them up. I spent all my SP on lvl 5 armor, shield, biotics, hacking and prof in pistols and SMG. |

Minmatar Logi is always going to outclass any other suit when it comes to hacking because they get +25% hacking at level 5. I borked my SP last build. I ran a similar fitting to what you have with a dragonfly suit until I could get a B-Series to do it better.
I only have this fitting at ADV level right now, but this is what I'm planning:
Logi MK,0
Highs:
4x Complex Shield Extender
Lows
2 Complex Kinetic Catylizers
1 Complex Cardiac regulator
1 Complex Codebreaker
Weapon:
Duvolle TAR or Allotek Burst
Equipment:
Remote Explosives
Drop Uplink
Active Scanner
RE (If I have enough PG/CPU left)
Anyway, back to the point, I would consider a gallente logi or scout for your fitting since they have more low slots to fit catalyzers and codebreakers. Scouts are going to be more CPU/PG starved, but will be the fastest, but GaL logi will have more versatility to pull it off. |

I generally don't bother with armor or shield modules in a scout (other than skill bonuses)... I just assume that if I'm in CQC I'm already dead.
It frees up the space for other things... |

Just going to throw this out there...
SKill up to level 5 Min Logi, and you'll get the bonus even if you're only running the Stnadard Min Logi suit. |
