It is true.
All corporations were given territories, and after they were grabbed, everyone have to fight.
http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/world-news/cloned-mercenaries-flood-into-molden-heath/
MOLDEN HEATH GÇô Within the first ten minutes of the Thukker Tribe opening planetary districts in Molden Heath to cloned mercenaries, every district set aside had been claimed by independent corporations. Individuals continue to arrive by the thousands as they fortify their newly-claimed districts and prepare to sell their skills to the highest bidders.
Entire planets have been claimed by corporations such as SVER True Blood and D3LTA FORC3, while others are split between many different corporations. Already reports have come in that several corporations have planned assaults on rival mercenary groups in an attempt to claim more land for themselves.
The Thukker Tribe, however, is dismissive of the potential violence between corporations and instead noted the positives. A representative from the tribe said, GÇ£Within hours of us announcing our plans, local chatter from the Angel Cartel increased ten times over. The Republic Security Services has told us that many of them are highly worried about the presence of the cloned mercenaries and the capsuleers they will draw into the region.GÇ¥
The Angel Cartel itself has not made any statements on the matter, but reports have come in that several Angel Cartel ships have been seen evacuating the region. However, other reports show the Cartel continuing to engage in criminal activities inside Molden Heath.
The Minmatar Republic has similarly refrained from making any official statement on the Thukker Tribe's invitation. |

I wish..
At the very start, all the Districts were empty, so you'd simply move clones onto it (Packs cost 80mil I believe), so everyone that had the districts first were simply faster than everyone else. |

It's total bullcrap.
The bigger corps had the advantage right of the bat in that they could afford to take multiple districts, and probably had several directors who could grab different districts all at the same time. BUT this is not the same as some lame-ass excuse for a conspiracy that someone invented because they're bitter about losing out on the initial land grab. |

i think there's some confusion in the thread about what the OP means by "given."
Corps that had Directors/CEOs get on right after the servers came back up bought (for 80 mil ISK per district) districts. Once all of those districts were bought by one corp or another, Corps that weren't as quick were forced to attack the already-occupied districts.
No corp was "given" districts in the sense that they didn't need to do something to get them. |

I highly doubt it. It may seem like that since bigger corps more than likely have several directors with access to claiming districts. These bigger corps also most likely knew the importance of getting on as soon as the servers came back up to claim territories. Any conspiracy theories you hear are quite possibly just members of corps that didn't coordinate well enough.
Either way, it really doesn't matter much. The good corps/alliances will hold districts. The bad corps/alliances will lose districts. Day to day ownership doesn't mean too much. |

Thukker Tribe gave away territories to all those that wished to reside there. Server went online Directors bought clone packs Directors claimed districts Corpoations got territories Taken territories have to be fought over from now on
If what OP meant by "given" was "certain corporations started with territories and didn-¦t have to do anything about it", then he clearly doesn-¦t know about game mechanics and can be esaily dismissed by any player with common knowledge. |

Also their corp mates each got a Merc Pack and a full layout of prototype HAVs and Dropships. To test the new system they were given 10 flyable MCCs for EVE online.
