Does anyone else feel the need for a more efficient skill allocation system?
What I mean by this is that you would be able to see how many Skill Points it would take to do certain things.
This way Unallocated SP will be more manageable. Currently in-game there is no way to see (say from Weaponry Level 2) how much SP it will take to get Weaponry Level 3-5, Heavy Weapon Operation Level 3, and Forge Gun Operation Level 1.
Currently the only way to see how much SP it will take to do what you need to is to do some math (seriously who likes doing that), or to just do it and see how many SP it took.
Implementing this SP Assigner separate from the Skills List on either these Forums or In-Game (preferably both) will allow people the convenience of seeing just what the can Specialize into with their current SP without actually allocating it, ending much confusion and calls for further respecs.
Also, this assigner should take into costs in ISK of SkillBooks needed. For example, I want Vehicle Command Level 3, Gallente LAV Level 4, and Gallente HAV Level 1, but am super noob and don't know if I have enough points and/or ISK to do so. The Skill Point Assigner/Allocator will show you show SP: 3,450,000, ISK: 1,200,000
Any thoughts?
Edit: This would also be extremely useful for Tank/Dropship fittings, as you could look at all the different combinations of ways to make your vehicle before investing points in something you later decide isn't necessary. |

Somebody will write a 3rd party planning tool that will do what you're asking. EVEmon does this for our space bros. |

I don't doubt that one bit, the only thing that concerns me about it being 3rd party and not CCP is the availability of it to the newbies who need it most. |

cant you just act like your going to spec in it and go to lvl 3 or 4 or whatever and it will tell you? so if your going to go into drop suit lvl 5 then click it in the skill tree and raise the lvl (right on the dpad) and it will tell you, even if you don't have enough. |

It will tell you but only for one skill. Say you going into Dropsuit Upgrades and try to put it to 4, it WILL show you how much SP you need. BUT say you also want to know how much SP it takes to level Dropsuit Biotics Upgrades (which can only be leveled when Dropsuit Upgrades hits level 4), since Dropsuit Biotics is locked, you currently have to upgrade Dropsuit Upgrades to 4 before seeing how much SP the further skills cost. |

I really don't like sharing my secrets with you nubs but this already exists to some extent.
If you look in the market for an item there are multiple columns. One of them being SP. It tells you how much SP it will take you to get the necessary skills to use an item.
You're welcome.

+1
Stlll think there should be a calculator, or something a bit more streamlined
Edit: Doesn't this only go for one set of skills at a time? Say if I want to skill towards a module sure the 'market' method works, but if I want the skills for 3 different mods and vehicle command for tanks, it is a bit inefficient. |

It doesn't even mention the skill level now. you're better off using the list view to be honest. |

Edit 2: For tanks/ dropships, simply pick which tank/DS you would like to fit. (Depending on your current skills, an SP and ISK amount will display on the screen) Continue fitting your vehicle as you would like from a list of EVERY vehicle mod. Watch as the total SP and ISK of your fitting adds up, allowing you the visual of seeing where your SP is going.

Take a closer look at that number before you suggest it.
You'll notice that the amount of SP it gives you for a given skill is how much you need to upgrade from the PREVIOUS LEVEL TO THE LEVEL REQUIRED.
Example (I'm not in front of my PS3 so I can't give perfectly accurate numbers): You need Dropsuit Command Level 2, Minmatar Medium Frame Suit Level 5 and Minmatar Logistics Level 1 to get the standard Logi suit. In the Marketplace, it shows you the three skills you need, the levels required and the ISK value of the Skill Book if not already purchased. That SP Value though, will tell you how much SP you need to get from Dropsuit Command Level 1 to Dropsuit Command Level 2, how much SP you need to get from Minmatar Medium Frame Dropsuit Level 4 to Minmatar Medium Frame Dropsuit Level 5 and the SP you need to get Minmatar Logistics Dropsuit Level 1. It does not tell you the SP you need to get through levels 1-4 on Minmatar Medium Frame Dropsuit and it doesn't tell you the SP you need to get Dropsuit Command Level 1
