You hardened the LAV's and that is fine. But everyone knows that if you want a quick 10 kills, just take an LAV out at the beginning of the match. Prior to the re-spec, we could balance the activity with proximity explosives. Now the cost is so high, it means giving up a lot of resources to deal with this idiotic nonsense. The guy driving the murder taxi doesn't have to skill up to anything to get lots of points and then obtain whatever with those SPs. The guys he runs over, were just working hard to try to skill up.
The murder taxi's will always be there, I get it. However, in my humble opinion, you need to rethink the cost of proximity explosives. It's not like they are easy to use. And we can't deploy that many of them. However, as a logi, I try to cover my team's rear or flanks when they are dug in. But I'm usually busy with other things like injectors, nanos etc. It's such a huge expense now, that I can't see being able to protect with the PEs anymore because of cost.
You know it's not that easy to deploy them anyway. So making them cheaper doesn't mean a huge proliferation will happen. I've only got three equipment slots on my suit, and Nanos, repair tools, drop links, and injectors are already competing for those slots.
Thanks for listening. Hope you hear me.

As you've pointed out yourself, the real issue now is slots, not skill points. Proximity explosives were always a second choice no matter what build you ran, and now there are very few suits that give you it.
The REAL real issue is that the new driving mechanics have made cars a lot more effective at splatting people, yet we're all still packing infinite free ones. I think it's time for the blueprint to go.
EDIT: How about new players get a militia LAV fit by default, with a stock of 5-10 so they need to top it up once they run out. |

I think CCP needs to take out the Impact mechanic of LAVs. Easy fix that will get rid of "murder taxis". I'm here to shoot, I shouldn't have to worry about a single LAV taking out my entire team.. |

Doesnt sound like you or your team is worried enough about it to have someone go av for the free kills on the noobs in the tin cans.
Let me play devils advocate and take your same argument against tar's.
"I think CCP needs to rework the tar's hipfire mechanics and general stats. Easy fix that will get rid of the "fotm". I'm here to play a video game that promotes more then one playstyle. I shouldn't have to worry about a single tar taking out my entire team.." |

While it's not the only solution :
More people need to carry AV grenades. That's one of the reasons LAV Mayhem is such a viable strategy. Most of the time, no one bothers to try to stop them.
Back on topic though : Like said in the post above mine, slots are an issue. Now that only logistics suits have more than one slot... It's usually asking a lot for a non logistics player to throw down demolitions. Especially without being able to throw down nanohives to restock them. That's probably something worth looking into as well.. |

Bring back the ability for scouts to sacrifice a secondary weapon for a second equipment slot and I will GLADLY be there to stop LAVs. Hate running without a needle for my team though. |
