As much as jet fighters are awesome, I don't think it's a good idea for Dust 514. Maybe if they make it hover rather than zooming across the map back and forth, then that would be okay. Jet fighters are just really fast and Dust 514 is more slower-paced than most FPS games. People would get cranky with trying to shoot it down. Just my thoughts. |

Shipboarding, against both NPCs for instant battle, and against EVE real players when hired by other EVE players. |

Actually that is a great point Kage. I thought we were getting Skirmish 1.0 back with the Uprising release. WTF?
As for me, the rest of the confirmed weapons (at least the racial variants of their main light weapon, pistols, and knives), racial APCs, LAVs, and HAVs; the rest of the racial dropsuit variants, and the secondary market. Maybe even the ability to start building and fitting your MCC (might as well if we are asking for rainbows!) |

I would like to see the core content stabilize and the base mechanics fixed before more content gets piled on.
This game needs to get to release status in actuality rather than name only, and it will probably require another 3-6 months to get there. Let's see the new skill tree and suit progression and get through the next skill respec first, then finish all the racial variants of the advertised release content.
Then I'd like to see game modes and maps that reward tactics and strategy more complex than "Get there first" and "Shoot first with the highest DPS". Make game play deeper rather than just pile more toys onto the same flat game play.
The shiny fighters and the current dropships won't be any more useful than they are today until CCP creates a need for them. They will remain peripheral until there is a district advantage to using them. You can give pilots point for drop offs, but if you don't give the average merc a reason to get in in the first place it won't change a thing. As long as objectives are placed close together with plenty of cover for a ground assault that will be the favored tactic.
You will have to have a reason to fly dropships before their predators can survive. With dropships HAVs going extinct there will be nothing for fighters to do other than shoot each other, which will have zero impact on a match other than provide decoration for the skybox. |

I would like to see see incentives for more complex play.
Right now there is zero incentive for positional play in anything outside PC battles because that's the only match where winning or losing makes a difference.
In all other battles there is a disincentive to sit and hold an objective. If it isn't being attacked you have nothing to kill, and that means you don't gain WP's which in turn means you don't get rewarded with as much SP and ISK.
So everyone runs from one captured objective to the next in search of the battle front like a bunch of little kids chasing the ball in a soccer match. Everyone wants to kick the ball and nobody particularly cares about winning the game.
That results in an endless round robin capping of objectives as they are taken and then abandoned. What sort of tactics are needed when your sole objective is to get in a place where you can shoot the other guy in the face? It's barely a step up from Ambush mode.
This is the environment we are training new players in.
I'd like to see improvements to the communication and leadership structure to allow coordination of squads into a cohesive team. |
