First, let me preface this with: I don't know if it has been suggested, if so disregard.
But everyone hates when a match dies and an opposing team resorts to red line sniping, or even players who never leave the redline to snipe without risk. With CCP working on how max ranges are affected, maybe they could also make the redlined areas a 50% decrease in damage output(or some other modifier), to encourage continued assualt and discourage cowardice? As myself primarily a sniper, I would have no problem with this. And if a player still wants to redline snipe, well they would have to really work for it. Feel free to add input or tear apart this idea. |

If the game is already losing, firing from the redline allows them to stay engaged without losing an additional bunch of suits. Would you rather force them to go afk in their MCC? |

I understand that's exactly what this would devolve into, and I have no problem with redlining it. But it seems enough players hate when every single player refuses to make an effort to move forward, and it eliminates a "I'm going to kill and not worry about death" mentality. I've done redline sniping, I've been redline sniped. I just figured I'd put the idea out there. |

Put a rise in elevation between the redline and the rest of the map, so players don't have line-of-sight from behind the redline. |

This is exactly what would happen. You're already winning. Be happy with that. |

best penalty i've heard so far.
You don't get skillpoints when outside of the redline. |

There's no need for a penalty. Game loss is enough. |
